Losing some of the initial burst and instead getting an overtime restore in my opinion isn't as good as how it was before. Stamsorc in pvp is about speed, the skill allowed you to enter a fight, deal some damage and back off and get your resources back. Now with speed being gutted and snares up much more it means retreating is much harder and in most situations will be near impossible so it's an indirect nerf and since your not getting the full burst stam back it makes it worse in these situations where I need the full value right away to stay in the fight and alive. I had no sustain issues before murkmire, but now I am actually running out of stam.
Remove the cast time; make the duration 10s not 20s; make it restore half (or 1/4) instantly with the rest over 10s. Skill is fine for PvE and still good for PvP.
I play mag and stam sorc in 1vx and small scale and i must say i liked the old version a lot better, the stam over time was a great idea and I thought I would be okay before I tried it.
It feels slow now that its 20 sec to get the last stam, that means I need to spam it and extra time in combat to get the stam I need to kite a zerg around and not die to snares.
It was easier before when we had the speed, but I can handle the speed nerf quite okay, but the stam over 20 sec seems useless in active pvp combat.
I use it right before I get in to combat now, but the real need of it is when you get vastly outnumbered and you try to get away from people, and there is no time to spam it 3-4 times to have enough stam to get away from the raging zerg spamming snares and stuns on you now.
I would call for a reroll of that skill or even try it with a 5-10 sec cool down for the extra stam, 20 secs is just way to long in pvp.
After PVPing for a few days, no build changes, shackle/bone pirate still 2x swift and weapon damage enchants. I just feel I'm always out of stam, and its not just the dark deal change. It feels like I'm out faster and needing to dark deal sooner than before (noCP).
Premptive DD doesnt seem to do much and since i can't escape with speed anymore, I'm getting interrupted much more. DD will stay on my bar, but overall its significantly less effective and the stam regen over time takes too long to be noticable. Working on compensating with build and playstyle changes.
I can get behind it was slightly overperforming before, but now its significantly underperforming IMO. I don't buy the excuse that it allowed stam sorc to run full damage builds because I see other classes doing the same, especially warden.
I mean, when I manage to disengage to cast it, I can usually do multiple casts - for this, the ability is nerfed..
The recov over time is nice - but not enough for the setup I have, which means I have to cast it often enough to where I'm nowhere near getting the full benefit of the passive recov..
I tend to think that if I added more base recov to my build, so I can use the full 20 seconds - well, casting it once every 20 seconds doesn't warrant a bar-slot imho. Now when I'm seriously short on space.. I mean if I only needed to use it every 20 secs, it would probably only take one more recov bonus to not need it all - and then I can fit in something much more useful, like a hot or an execute, or a 2nd shield...
Imho, that recov it gives over 20 seconds - it should be the same amount overall - but 10 seconds... That could make it worth a slot without being gimped.
Minalan owes me a beer.

Initial cast: 3600 magicka
1s 20 Ticks: 120 magicka = 2400 magicka total
6000 magicka after 20 sec.
2010 stamina cost.
Time to go from 0 magicka to 53k magicka with 1291 regen:
Regen only = 48s
Using Dark Concersion every 20 sec, 2 casts = 40s
Spamming Dark Conversion = 18s
--10 total casts, I ran out of stamina after 8 and needed to wait for some stamina to regen before I could cast the last 2.
Before Mirkmire, I could easily spam Dark Conversion until my magicka was full and never have to worry about running out of stamina before that would happen. I believe I could fill up from empty in about 10 seconds at that time, so this is a very significant nerf. The 20 seconds of 120 magicka ticks are a joke, shaving off only 8 seconds compared to just standing there, and most of that reduction was coming from the two 3600 casts themselves. It's hardly worth the time to cast.
If this skill is really going to be a decent contender for a skill slot, it needs:
1. to lose the cast time
2. to return double the value over 20 sec, from 2400 to 4800. That would equate to 240 magicka per second.
It's garbage for PvP. The cast time seems the same, you still can't bar swap out oif the long animation BS, and it now gives maybe 10% of your magicka back. I have to cast it 10 times in a row to get any decent amount back with 2k recovery.
