    1. Light Armor and game philosophy crippled by Shield redesign
    Shields are not only capped at -50%/-60% health and being critable now, even worse; Light Armor now has LESS shield resistance than Heavy Armor. This turns the Magicka philosophy of this game upside down: For the first time, LA performs WORSE for Magicka skills than HA. This considerably harms LA users playing with low health to meet DPS requirements.
    Possible solution: Reverse shield resistance calculation, so that LA has better shield resistance and HA has less.

    Was previously against the changes, then saw this
    and suddenly the shield change made sense to me -- they have made heavy armour more defensive without increasing its damage output
    compared to how frequently this game has rewarded high survivability to high damage builds, this actually now seems to be a beneficial, or at least logical, change

    Not really bothered one way or another.

    I soloed my first world boss yesterday with a petsorc (that bear down the coast in Glenumbra, forget it's name, probably an easy one for everyone else, but eh, I was chuffed). My clannfear kept dying but the resommoning didn't cost much each time, and they've already acknowledged a bug with pets dying too quickly.

    I only slot the clannfear though, never liked the twilight, far too annoying.

    As for the 3rd bar, I didn't even realise it was there until someone said it had been taken away.

    Never used shields much anyway.

    I didn't notice much difference in BGs, but I'll admit I've never done other PvP, Trials or group stuff, so that might be where it all drops to bits.

    My biggest gripes are not being able to break out of CC consistently and the staffs not firing properly.

    Tanks mostly needed no shields before. Now they need shields to withstand the 2x2 enchant proc cancer - this is good? On the other side, LA builds in Trials now often are melting away like snowflakes in a sec and no healer can save them... Do the combat designers think this is entertainment for LA players or for healers? When I heard people saying, "the devs do not play their own game", I thought this was just sarcasm ... until this patch ...

    1) Instead of just toning down swift, they destroyed the whole structure of major expedition-- why? By the time i cast a 4 sec ME it is almost up, what is the point, it is now a waste of resources. Now everything is slowed down, this has good and bad points but certainly forces many players to change builds and playstyle.
    2) Forward momentum nerf makes it almost useless. Again, 4 seconds, what a waste of life recasting this stuff so often
    3) weapon enchantments. Interesting, this hits tanks very hard, and the speed and bleed changes hit tower humpers. But the bleeds/weapon enchantment change is a major, major change in the nature of the game . Everyone is now squishy and some builds simply dissolve. I am glad the weapon damage glyph now actually works, but I think it went too far.
    4) I had great hopes for the new PvP map but it is disappointing to me. I don't enjoy the fights at the MG, sitting there blowing up your own bridge for 10-20 minutes. The new outposts stick out like thumbs and don't provide much more connectivity, they get cut off if one link in the chain to them is cut. Why not make more links so the game is more dynamic?
    5) The nerf to Sorcs was too much
    6) Meanwhile the Nightblades are swarming Vivec with their cheese cancer exploit gank builds which are ridiculously overpowered and require no PvP skill. Cloak is still by far the strongest ability in the game offensively and defensively. I am told NB used to be weaker ; the cycle continues, now they are strongest so they will probably be nerfed next in the endless Nerf Cycle.
    4 GOs, and General, and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP over the last 8 years

    Two words: Sorc nerf.

    I simply cannot appreciate such drastic nerfs to a class. There must be ways to balance abilities without forcing so many people to rebuild their characters. I get the feeling that more and more playstyles are destroyed with each update and that is not a good trend I think. I know this isn't a single player game but people should still be able to play the builds they want to, right? I don't want every possible build to be the best of the best but at least one should be able to complete the basic features of the game. With a little skill.

    My main is screwed without a proper damage shield. Light armor offers few resistance and as a magicka user I don't have the resources to block, bash and dodge that many times. The only chance to survive was casting a damage shield. But now the shield is way too weak. I get one-hitted when the boss so much as sneezes in my direction, even with the shield active. Now thanks to the bug that causes combat pets to die so fast my self-healing doesn't work either as my healing pet is usually dead when I need it. (at least that's going to be fixed) Still... healing doesn't save me when I'm already dead. And while I'm busy spamming shields that break within a second and resummoning my pets I don't have time to actually fight the boss.

    Well of course this is my own problem as there are ways to adapt, different armor sets, different skills, L2P blah whatever. Yes, in fact I do have several ideas.
    But the point is not that I can't adapt. I just. Don't want to. There, I said it.

    I just kinda finished my main's build and finally reached the point where I could call my char a decent DD. It took almost a year for me to get there. Why? Because I'm not part of the elite and don't care to be. Because I like to figure things out on my own. That's part of what makes the game fun for me.
    Oh but wonderful, now I can go ahead and figure things out again! Yes but loosing previous progress is just too frustrating. What's the point of building a character when you can't use it anymore after the next patch?
    I made this character to play the game with, not to start over once I'm done.
    This just makes me angry.
    And I should better stop now.

    No class should feel like being a demi-god in pvp - and if one feels like it, it has to be changed. These changes do not effect me, but this is my statement to that. I cannot evaluate how good or bad the changes are, but it had to be changed.

    Otherwise my warden class got rebalanced - I wouldn't call this a nerf, because the bear got weaker, but I have more sustain with my spammable and it feels much better to me this way. Damage-wise it might be similar to before, but it feels better.

    Cant comment yet as I’m on holiday with 18th Century Wi-fi....... but I’m worried about getting back this weekend and getting all Murkmired up. I’ve seen a lot of vitriol in the forums over the past 4 years, but this DLC / update has stirred things up in a way I haven’t seen before. I genuinely have friends and guild mates who are looking for another game to play.

    Yeah, and in a year they will be back, because they will be annoyed enough by BDO's p2w and the like - nothing new.

    If you build your DK with Wings being only defense you will die to melee. If your NB has cloaks and nothiing else AoEs and revealing moves will kill, you with a laugh. Templars that just try to out heal everything hit with defile have a real bad time.

    You shouldn’t use your shield as an extra health bar. You don’t need to turn to heavy armor. Put more points in to health and a defensive set. Light armor builds have been glass canons for four years now. We all said the same thing once our shields is down we die. Like that made it any better. Does that mean our builds was good? No not at all.

    If you run a black build and once you miss time or block drops you die, your build is bad. If you run a rolling build and when you stop rolling you die, again that’s a bad build. If you have no chance of living if your defense is not up 100% of the time that build needs work.

    All of my builds mage, rogue and tank I play all five classes can take a some hard hits without blocking, rolling or shields. Mainly cause I take the hit on damage to survive the fight. When you die your DPS is zero.

    •For a rolling build you need to invest heavy in regen and cost reductions. Forcing you into proc sets cause you lack the damage to just fight will that much well fitted on.

    •Block builds need all study, one hand and shield and CP investments. Again sets for damage and low DPS.

    Shield builds force you to go deep in magic which has the downside of harder hitting powers see the problem there? With strong shields you don’t have a trade off. All other forms of defense were nerfed. Shields and major evasion were just the last to go.

    Shields like blocking and rolling should be A line of defense, not your ONLY line of defense. No matter if it’s the first or last line it should never be the only line between you and death.

    Ya, templars are going to be strong. Probably strongest magicka class, especially with resistances, channeled focus, etc. You can basically fill every role with a templar this patch.

    Mostly just the enchant changes I'm not okay with. I think swift should've been changed to something like 15% snare reduction on gold jewelry.

    Too many other bugs were introduced with abilities like shadow image(invalid location), natures embrace(invalid location), templar jabs(targeting issues), radiant destruction(targeting issues), dizzying swing(targeting issues), and unbreakable CC(mostly draining shot...why was this abilities range buffed?).
