Endgame trials WITHOUT vMA staff?

Does it make that much of a difference? I get pretty good DPS without it and have done some vet Craglorn trials. I'd like to work my way up to vCR. I'm just so tired of doing vMA, I keep getting bows and one hand/shield.

You can do trials with 15k DPS to be honest. I have even heard of vAA getting done. Right now min progression DPS is 25 for average groups, but many look for 30k DPS on average.

Well thats a problem with the community it self on the idea you have to have 30k+. Alot of end game groups I have seen are going as high as 50k which is over kill in many ways cause it might speed up things but players are giving up alot to make that happen. There is also the idea that tanks and healers have to play to certain degrees that remove alot of other playstyles and is what has hurt this game for to long. But this will never change do to that fact access to builds has and always leads to what many feel has to be played and again is a community problem not even the devs can fix.

It is not a problem with the community itself.

What Tasear has said is correct. I can see a group being able to clear vAA with 15k average DPS but it would be an extremely rough ride.

The reason there is no problem with the community is there are guilds for every play style and skill level. At each level guilds have different priorities and with that different requirements. There is something out there for everyone and many solid guilds are happy to help those that really want it and are willing to work for it.

But no, vMA weapons are not a requirement to do end game trials. Though having the vMA weapons does show one thing. It shows someone who can pay attention to mechanics. It also shows some dedication, though it is not really required. (Yes, I know some guilds probably require it, but doubt that is most.

It's not overkill. These groups that ask for 50k+ are likely looking to push scores. Time is one of the factors in scores so naturally these teams want high DPS and fully optimized support roles.

I've done every vet trial (bar HoF we're starting that soon) with people that have never completed vMA so yeah is fully possible to do.

    vMA staff gives 1-2k dps.

The only reason you need the crazy high DPS is if you're pushing Leaderboards, but that's a whole different animal. If you're just trying for completion, you can get through doing less. That 2K DPS difference isn't going to make or break the run.

Plus, you get more options for your second 5 piece set, you won't lose the the 4/5 piece when you bar swap so maybe you see 1-2k less on your light attacks, but your probably benefiting more on your other skills.

Thats a bit misleading depending on endgame definition.

vCrag are far from endgame to endgame players.

vMoL is probably the acceptable baseline for endgame and realistically you will be told to go away with < 25k... youll walk into some groups with 35k, but the better groups will be asking for 40k.

vHoF, vAS+ and vCR+ are the main endgame imo and youll need 40k to not be turned away by a lot of groups at that level.

Try posting in zone chat that you are 35k self buff and want to do vHoF, vAS+ or vCR+ and see how many whispers / replies you get, excl paid run carries.

If you consider vAA endgame then your standards are lower than many endgame players.... vAA is midgame... nHoF is probably harder than vAA

nHoF is not harder than vAA, it just depends on the group's experience and following mechanics. My first clear of vSO, vAA and vHRC was without a vma staff due to bad rng in maelstrom (this was before transmutation)

Vet trials are by definition endgame PVE content. Yes, you can do vAA half-asleep with one hand tied behind your back once you've become skilled enough to do something like vCR+3, but all vet trials are designed as endgame content and 99% of the playerbase is still working towards endgame. Please don't turn this into an epeen measuring thread.

Vet trials are by definition vet trials... they are not by definition end game.

Vet does not equal end game...

If you feel something like vet fungal grotto 1 is end game then you should do stand up comedy.

Disagree... vAA is an absolute joke, whereas many pre end game teams do struggle more with nHoF... this I have observed many times... and based on similiar experience lvls with either.
