Maybe he’ll come back, but taking a hiatus for awhile. I’m sad but not surprised. He joined a high end Trials guild and it just sucked the fun right out of the game.

I joined too. Did one run with them and knew I couldn’t be around that. So I left. Wish he would have too.

But, they’re doing stuff he wanted to do in the game, so he put up with it. I’m sure they wanted him too because he was a DPS Monster.

These are the kind of players you have to align yourself with to do ESO endgame PVE. Sucks.

Try to be a little more excellent to one and other.

Yup, this is a reason why I haven't finished things like vas+2. While I'm more than capable, I won't play with the kinds of players you're referencing. It's a miserable experience.

Warframe removed its Trials with the purpose of reworking that content to something a large portion of the playerbase would benefit from. I am amazed that generation after generation of mmorpgs keep making the same mistake of thinking content must push players towards a robotic repetitive binary outcome, while an indie shooter is the one to have figured out how to move on.

Not quite sure what you are saying. I don't play Warframe so I can't say I understand how it works, but if there are groups/guilds whatever that do the raids even now that more people ca do it you're still going to have ones that are jerks to their members pushing for world firsts and stuff like that.

That's the same thing here an in every MMO. There are many guilds who can do everything, but they aren't like Hodor who the second something is available on the PTS they are requiring people be in there learning it so they can get World First as soon as it goes live. That mentality does kill the fun for most people. Obviously though there are some people who thrive on it and the challenge of getting it first is what makes it enjoyable.

High end trials with everyone having to post their DPS after every boss, with death counter at the end of the trial just makes you nervous and stressed.
Of course you will need that if you want to do vAS+2 or vCR+3, but I am quite happy to just do all vet Trials without hard mode.

I don't need the stress or toxicity.

The game becomes more a job/chore than a fun game. No speaking, everyone on at X time or kick, you aren't coming to the next run if you're gonna die on adds hahahahaha, dps tests send the results, ewwww not hitting 50k bk go away.

Not quite sure what you are saying.

That the concept of Trials as 'endgame' is something warframe got rid of because it admitted that type of concept is a developmental hell that is grossly inefficient in providing content that benefits the majority.

I hope your friend comes back eventually. However, it was not someone elses fault. He made his choices and they did not suit what he really wanted, or it was a last ditch effort to get some enjoyment out of the game. People burn out.

It was not likely the fault of other players. Heck, some of the most helpful players in the game are amongst the best raiders in the game.

As I expected, most of the comments here are like: "yeah, that's why I do RP/housing, because raiding guilds are so toxic!!!!111oneone"

    The truth is, not really.

People like above are just too sensitive to play MMO. They don't accept any critique or advice from other players regarding their gameplay. Someone will tell them nicely: "try to improve your dps" and they will get immediately sad or angry, and then they run to the forums to complain how badly they were treated by these end game players.

I play this game for over 2 years, and I'm doing end game PvE content all the time. I played with many groups and guilds during that time and I never been a victim of toxic behavior about the way I play.

My advice? Relax and listen to others. Don't be so sensitive. Not every person who says something about your performance in PvE is toxic and tries to make you feel bad. And some people just try to show you the right direction, even if they do it in not really good way.

There is a lot of pressure to do good. There’s a lot of passive aggressive stuff to each other. Animosity to a player that screws up. Pressure to not screw up so you don’t get on the other end of that. The whole time wanting to leave because the tension in the atmosphere is that thick. Staying around because this group of mean is going to accomplish something you can’t find in other cool groups.

Take a little time off and see this is the only feasible way your going to accomplish what you want. Realize there’s a million other fun things you can be doing.

This will probably get locked down in a few. Amongst all else, only do stuff that’s fun for gaming. None of this stuff is worth it if you’re not having fun.

^^^ I personally wasn't talking about performance critique, just infantile behaviour and general mindless comments from players who think that trashing other people will make them feel better about themselves.

Mostly these comments have been directed towards players other than me, but I'm not prepared to be in the same virtual space as people I would never wish to be around in real life.

I'm pretty sure that this is not unique to PS4(EU) but for some reason that platform seems to attract (and retain) a certain type of player due to it's higher level of accessibility....maybe..

Was definitly the best time I had in ESO but well all good things come to an end, people get bored of running the same 5 trials over and over again, raidteams disband, people lose interrest in the game because there is no change in gameplay and such stuff you know....

Well taking a break from certain parts of the game, or the game altogether may be a positive change. For example I stopped playing dungeons and trials about 4 months ago and I don't feel I'm missing out on anything. If I want to I can pick right where I left, with the characters I had back then, and with the new ones I have promoted in the mean time, and still be able to have fun. Will I be able to be competitive? No, I think not, not because I lack something in particular, but because doing world firsts or speed run no death all bosses at the same time with other requirements on top requires way too much time spent doing the content over and over again. I had some friends in one of those guilds and I after one trial release I was looking at the list and seeing them there when I logged in, when I logged out, and then the next day I logged back again. I simply can't fathom how people can have that much endurance, but I do admire that kind of dedication.

I'm simply not up for that, not because I'm lazy or something, but because I do tend to get bored of it, at which point the game becomes tiring. I've been fighting fatigue for some time and I even had to dial down on things that I did enjoy, such as PvP, to simply avoid overexerting myself. Clocking 2-3 hours of playing every evening after 9 hours at the job and another 1.5-2h commute, and house chores after that is certainly not easy. On some nights I was pretty cranky and I suspect I talked rudely, on others I was simply a chatterbox, and I felt my own behavior was getting out of hand so I shut down socializing for a while until I was able to get behavior control back. That tends to happen if you exaggerate doing things that have boring and/or frustrating elements. Maybe people who exert themselves that much don't realize it, because they're too focused on doing things perfectly in game, but that will happen, in general or during certain periods. I suspect that's where most of the "toxicity" in certain guilds comes from.

In a few months I will search for a new PvE, and possibly PvP guild, but for the time being I'm content playing by myself, instead of being an unpleasant company for others. When I find one, it has to be a relaxed one, where people won't yell at me for dying in trials - that happens a lot since I do get lag spikes/freezes/skills not going off at all - or because I'm not pulling the last 2% of the DPS I could have done. That is simply out of the question and if it happens, I will leave and keep searching. In the mean time I will try to improve my gameplay by myself so I don't go to the other extreme, and become a liability for the others.

I think most players who want to do real endgame stuff can accept, a bit of advice and criticism on how to become better, but when you have a complete arsehole lording it over you on the end of a mic its utterly frustrating.

I am in a guild that does vet trials etc, since joining got a few achievments i thought i wouldnt get, all helpful people with no axe to grind with anyone, and lord nothing over nobody, they help, advise and criticise if needs be, but its RESPECTFUL.

For me that is one of the things that sticks out, lack of respect amongst these so called top players, end of mic giving it the big i am, when in reality they would end up with a twisted jaw.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.
