I have not done any endgame in ESO, at least Trials and stuff like that. I got so fed up with people who usually do these in other games, that i dont even bother anymore. I just RP and live in my house and do outfits and adventure and do walkabouts.

Shame though, as i really want to do these things for the story locked behind them, but i am yet to found anyone who is actuall capable of roleplaying through a dungeon type environment. I dont even care about the gear, i do like some cosmetic rewards though but i would give them all up if i could just go there alone and see what hapens. Its like a good book locked inside case of glass. You can read the prologue but you cant finish the book.

I joined too. Did one run with them and knew I couldn’t be around that. So I left. Wish he would have too.

But, they’re doing stuff he wanted to do in the game, so he put up with it. I’m sure they wanted him too because he was a DPS Monster.

These are the kind of players you have to align yourself with to do ESO endgame PVE. Sucks.

Try to be a little more excellent to one and other.

I don't know what experience you and your friend had, but I've been playing (on and off) since release, and I've been in anything from casual pve guilds to hardcore trial guilds without ever actually having a through on through terrible experience.
The few times I have encountred it it's only been a few (mostly one or two) "bad" apples. I say "bad" because generally they haven't been bad people, but they've more or less just been frustrated because of the lack of progression.
A lot of people think "I can do it, therefor everyone else can do it too". While it's true to some extent, it's still not 100% true, because of every different factor that comes into play to form a functioning human being/player.
Some people can be amazing to have around to boost morale, while they can't perform 100% in every fight. While the other guy does the complete opposite, but nails every boss encounter.

Usually what happens to guilds being run strictly and only based on performance die out, because there's simply nothing bonding the players together inbetween those fights.
The other guild will have a slower rate of progression, but they'll have a more social aspect to it which will help the longevity of the guild.

The only tip I can give you is to keep trying. People are different after all ;)
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I have yet to go trials because honestly most those guilds forget this is a damned game. No i don't want to follow some cookie cutter meta build, no I dont care about min maxing and no I wont sit there for hours because you are throwing a tantrum.

As I expected, most of the comments here are like: "yeah, that's why I do RP/housing, because raiding guilds are so toxic!!!!111oneone"

    The truth is, not really.

People like above are just too sensitive to play MMO. They don't accept any critique or advice from other players regarding their gameplay. Someone will tell them nicely: "try to improve your dps" and they will get immediately sad or angry, and then they run to the forums to complain how badly they were treated by these end game players.

I play this game for over 2 years, and I'm doing end game PvE content all the time. I played with many groups and guilds during that time and I never been a victim of toxic behavior about the way I play.

My advice? Relax and listen to others. Don't be so sensitive. Not every person who says something about your performance in PvE is toxic and tries to make you feel bad. And some people just try to show you the right direction, even if they do it in not really good way.

Awfully nice of you to completely contradict the writer and basically tell him 'everything is your own fault', without having any actual factual knowledge of what went on to make his friend leave.

I can never comprehend the competitive streak in gamers. Hell, I ain’t competitive in real life either. Can’t be bothered to anyway.

Aren’t games suppose to be fun and a form of stress relief?

It is this thing called E-"Sports" that is currently hot an fashionable. What the word sport means in it i do not comprehend, but i guess some people want to just feel good when winning. Nothing wrong in it really but there should be options for people who dont like to compete in games as well.

That's what you get for playing with elitists..."Wear this set, use these skills, do it this way or you cant play with us". Its why I rarely do trials anymore...they want me to play someone else's build using someone else's playstyle because they are meta-chasers. So these days I stick to pugging vet DLC dungeons....the most challenging content I can find that allows pugging...because pugs dont care about your build as long as you do your job.

I'm in a few guilds. One is full of elitist. You have minimum gear, dps, healing, and tanking requirements that must be met before you can achieve a certain level. This guild organizes mainly vet and HM trials. Running with them you feel pressured to maintain performance as beating the trial a foregone conclusion and someone is always there to comment should you slip up. Running with this guild is rarely what I would call fun.

On the other hand, I'm an officer in another guild where I lead normal trials where most members would be hard-pressed to parse 15k on a dummy, let alone a trial boss. Funny, but runs with this guild are a blast with lots of jokes, laughter, and a real sense of shared enjoyment and satisfaction when we complete successfully. Go figure. :)

So you were OK with getting carried and making the runs harder for everyone else in the group?

Also, I see the sentiment that hard hitting DPS are always actually somehow these mysteriously awful players that are dead all the time when it's the exact opposite. People who are hitting high dps numbers practice their rotation, practice playing their character, and practice trials. They are not the ones always dead and in fact it's almost always the lower hitting DPS because they are still having to think about their rotation while handling mechanics, while people who hit 45-55k have their rotation down to the point they do it without thinking. Even *if* a high hitting DPS dies a lot, it's often still better:

40k x 60 seconds = 2,400,000. Lets cut that in half and pretend they were dead for 30 seconds out of a 1 minute fight, so half the fight they are lying useless on the floor. They pulled 1.2m damage.
    15k x 60 seconds = 900,000.

Even though the 40k dps was dead half the fight, they still contributed more. Like I stated previously though it's seldomly the high dps people that are dead while the low dps are some secret mechanic wonderkin that never die.

Yes to get access to untouchable content that has been locked down by players who think they are good because they can do heavy damage over less time. That's not skill, bro. That's brute force.

A dead DPS is no DPS. And while I spend my time rezzing your dead-ass, that's even less DPS. We're in negative territory here! In my experience I spent more time alive picking up the slack of those DPS who claimed to have 40K. Kinda hard to hit when you're kissing dirt.

I'll change my example. You want to work out, you go to a gym but the trainers in there are big horrible jocks. You leave the gym and decide never to work out again....when you should really just try another club ;)

I agree with Youyouz06. There are going to be bad apples in groups anywhere you go. Sometimes, trial groups are flat-out toxic. Sometimes, the people they are trying to help simply can't take friendly critique and THINK they are toxic.

WHATEVER the case is, either way, if you aren't having fun running with a particular group, then stop running with them. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun.
Normal versions of trials are faceroll easy, especially with a bit of research. If you want to experience the story and see it, normal is the way to go. And nothing and nobody is stopping you from putting together a like-minded group to take your time to go through this content.
