HDR on Xbox.. it's still over saturated, and not right?

Just came back on over to ESO on Xbox to play with a buddy.

From what I'm checking out though, it looks like it was turned off - then it was re-added in the recent update.

But greens and colors still seem too vibrant, and just overall kind of bad.

My TV is a KS8000 and is properly calibrated. I spent plenty of time calibrating it prior to this, and any and all HDR titles look great. But this just looks bad?

Funny story about this – and I’m sure you are all seeing where this is going – we have a backlog of art bugs and issues that we address over time. If these are flagged as low priority, it can take a long time to get to them. Just after our HDR versions of ESO launched, we flagged an HDR issue where some assets were not responding correctly to our HDR renderer – their color values were not configured properly and were “blown out”, meaning they were far too bright for the established ESO art style. This was entered as a bug, and sat there (not high priority) on the bug list for a few years. Eventually it was addressed and made its way into the build that launched with Update 19 (Wolfhunter).

So now this leaves us in a sticky situation: if we change it back, there will be players that like the new way better than the old. And they will be correct, just as are the ones who like the old way – this is subjective. We are now in a no-win situation, which is why we haven’t given you guys much information up until this point. What we need to do is step back, look at our options, and figure out what is the best thing to do that makes the highest number of players happy. I’m not 100% sure what this is yet, but hang tight and we’ll let you know.

Troll post? Reason I ask is we had a HUGE thread over this. While I don't have an HDR TV, lots of people who do have HDR TV says to get the same results as before was to turn your HDR off. Not sure if that will work for you or not.

Nope not a troll post. I saw the big post, however the last comment I saw on that post was Oct 4th, and plenty of people are saying it's fixed.

However it still looks too over saturated for me. Based on the quote above however, it sounds like they're just leaving it the way it was before?

I know it's all subjective, and I even saw a post where they enjoy the "technicolor and vibrant look" and were "glad it was back".

So it sounds like this is how it is then? Over saturation and that's all?

Also keep in mind, I'm not on ESO a ton on console.. so HDR isn't even an option otherwise whilst on PC (for me). So it isn't exactly directly effecting me while on PC.

How it is now is how it was all year. They tried to reduce saturation with WH and it basically broke HDR. For a month, and majority of people complained hence the huge thread, so they reverted it.

To most, it looks better now that that months hiatus. If you don't like it turning off HDR is a valid option.

Regardless ZOS are looking for a middle ground sat setting we will see at the future. Most agree a switch or slider would do nicely

I think when people say it's fixed, they mean it went back to how it was before and how they preferred it before. Yup, nothing was changed except for reverting it back I believe. Sadly we don't have options to tweak it so people can make it to like how they like/prefer it.
