What’s the deal with Sprint Bug. It’s now a constant issue.

This *** is pissing me off. It’s every fight now. Non stop.

Line up a combo. Sprint bug
Turn WW. Sprint bug
Type in capital S on my phone and Spring bug pops up. That’s how much of an issue it is. I’ve typed it in my phone so much since January it has now remembered it.

Fix this god damn bug.

I agree this is incredibly annoying. ZOS said somewhere that they can't figure out what's causing it. How about just making the "block" action cancel any active/stuck sprint? How hard is that?

Just switch the music up to "Yackety Sax" and pretend you're the special guest on the Benny Hill show. On Wednesday's episode, everyone was frozen in time but me and I was stuck in sprint! Just as I was about to get weird and take pictures, I got magically transported to another place and time.

You become locked in sprint without engaging the sprint button. Happens on pc. I am not sure it happens on console, with how laggy it is it would be very likely that players dont detect it if it happened just because most people would attribute it to lag.
I used to use root poisons on console because people would naturally think they were lagging out, not rooted lul.

It's like "something" causes sprint to be a toggle. .. during which sprint doesn't turn off unless you press the sprint button.

I had no idea what you were talking about until i watched the video lol i though u meant like stuck sprinting forward or something. but i can confirm happens on pc and this has happened to me over a year ago so i don't think it new, now maybe more prevalent. not often but i remember this happening before. only happened once to me in the last month or two

Ah, caused by the micro-loading screens, prevalent in Cyrodiil. Now I know why I haven't experienced this (recently) as I haven't been in Cyrodiil much for a couple of years. Yeah probably where the game expects something pre-loaded into memory but it hasn't loaded yet for some unknown reason, the game goes into wait mode for the thing to load into memory. The micro-stutter may be too quick for some people to detect, and sometimes less than one rendered frame in duration so many people may not see this happen when it bugs them. The result is that the sprint status sticks afterward. My guess.

This has been happening to me for, at least, two years. Something, when using puncturing sweeps, is one of the causes. It is not the only cause but it is the one I get. If you only have a nano-second to get yourself healed, that bug can get you killed. It is beyond annoying, at this point. I know they are looking into it and that is much appreciated but I hope they can figure it out soon.

Edited to add......it is NOT just in Cyrodiil. I get it often in PVE areas.

Just out of curiosity - do you happen to be sprinting (shift) and bar swapping at the same time OR just a second or 2 before the bug occurs?

My answer to that would be "NO". I am not sprinting or bar swapping. I am standing still using puncturing sweeps when it happens.

It's funny, but it's not.

Not sure why this is so hard for them to track down.

Things put you in Sprint mode. Things (are supposed to) take you out of Sprint mode.

Monitor those things (enter and exit, even if status doesn't change). Monitor Sprint flag. Monitor things that monitor Sprint flag or share Sprint flag status.

It's gotta be in there somewhere.

Could also diff check API changes from when it didn't do this to now...

You have just proved it perfectly. How many times do we have to tell people to spell check and make sure what they wrote is correct. Spring bug? If you can make mistakes, other people can make mistakes as well.

Also WW? Are we that lazy to type out? If we can't write properly how do you expect anyone to code properly? After all we are not in the 90's anymore where we have to use short forms because we are paying for every letter we use. If anything you have proven why we have these problems. Everything is in always a hurry and we can't double check what we do or even write.

How do we expect anyone to do something properly when we even can't even do it ourselves?

This is very annoying but equally annoying is the can't mount because you're still in combat 5 minutes after a fight.

It happened to me in March of Sacrifices a couple days ago... as the tank. I hadn't been running. Or bar swapping. So that was cool. It's not just for PvP anymore, kids!

I do a Dragon Leap, into a no damage, no stun, no attack walk toward low enemy with sword in hand, delay stun knockback, fake swing with sword, into a fake upercut grunt, into a walk around, hit sprint, hit block and sprint, into a walk away buff.

It's the best combo to not kill a low opponent.

Ok so i uave a question. This is in pve tho
My toon will just start walking in a straight line i dont think she was sprinting tho. Could this be the spring bug. Seems like nothing i do fix it i just mash all my buttons untill it fixes. Does this sound like the sprint bug?

It happens the most for me on my Magplar, usually while using sweeps. I always get stuck with the light spear jutting straight out while my toon does the Running Man, looking like the world's derpiest pole vaulter.

I still get random resource degeneration while doing nothing that would consume said resource - such as standing still or riding a mount. Or using Deep thoughts.

"Implemented intermittent inconsistent Sprinting feature, to aid in player mobility during combat."
Developer Comments:

This is a buff if you have 50K+ stamina to waste on Sprinting, and a nerf if you play a normal build.
