In my previous thread about longsword, many people want this weapon, so here is my idea :

- My idea is to integrate with Destruction Staff skill line to avoid imbalance when creating new skill line.
- Sword and Runes can be crafted at blacksmiths, and require new material, a type of small crystal, that can be mine throughout Tamriel.
- The idea is to create weapon that act as 2H weapon, but sword at the right and runes, a bit like gloves with a small crystal embedded on it, or just put small crystal on the palm of the hand.
- This weapons reacts as 'dual wield dagger', in which increase critical, damage(maybe), but reduced resource return from heavy attacks.
- Specialized in close counter, this weapon do have long range skill, which will be explain in detail after this.
- The animation of light attack is normal one handed sword, but when heavy attack, the player will hold 2 hands to charge the magic to sword, creating a devastating slash in close combat.
- When attack, whether light or heavy, it will emit a slash effect, but only in short duration.
The Destruction Staff skill line will change to Destruction Magic.
Active Skills :
- Mostly the skills and morph will remain the same, but the animation will change
1. Force Shock : When using Sword Runes = The animation is that the player will apply the magic throughout blade of the sword, and release it by creating a big range slash. This animation might be faster, because of the magicka player willing to take a risk fighting in close range. The range of this skill are the same, and the slash projectile is really fast.
- Force Pulse : Damage two nearby enemies.
2. Wall Of Element : When using Sword Runes = Applied Minor Vulnerability to the enemies, increasing their damage taken by 8%.
3. Destruction Touch : When using Sword Runes = The first animation is same as Force Shock, but when the player attack, the player will do an uppercut slash.
- The effect will follow as inferno staff, which is knock back the enemies, and DOT magic damage when morph into Destructin Clench.
4. Weakness to Elements = No change accept animation.
5. Impulse = Also no change accept the animation, the animation will be like Dual Wield Surge or Dual Wield Repentance.
Passive Skills :
1. Quad Focus : When using Sword Runes = increase Spell Critical by 5% - 10%. The name change as it now have four weapons.
2. Penetrating Magic : Leave it be, or increase maybe.
3. Elemental Force : When using Sword Runes = When casting Destruction Magic, you gain Minor Prophecy, and duration will depend on the duration of Destruction Magic skills.
4. Ancient Knowledge : When using Sword Runes = When dodging, the animation will be like dashing with magic effect and will use magicka. This is to balance the play style of close combat, in which need to dodge. With this, Sword Runes player won't need to be worry about stamina, which is as expected the magicka player has low amount of stamina.
5. Destruction Expert : Remain the same.
The main goal of Sword Runes is to create an agile player with magic and to add variety in ESO world, so the player will have much more choice and wider variety of magic weapons. And I hope ZOS will consider this suggestion, as players suggesting this idea for many long time.
