I gave up on housing after I bought the house in Sentinel.
I wanted to decorate the upstairs balcony, but apparently that's "outside".

Any other houses I have have the banker installed and are used primarily as transport hubs.

It is a free house. It was never part of the summerset chapter itself.

Im excited about the house and I am fine with it being empty.
That way I can decorate it how I want and not have to find homes for or destroy the stuff I dont want

People always complaining about the lack of furniture slots. I certainly complain the Erstwhile Sanctuary only has 700, it NEEDS another 250 to become complete!!!

However the Psyjik Villa is a completely different kind of dwelling, not essentially a dwelling, more a cathedral with living space really. So what is wrong with a minimalist / modernist style of furnishing where less is more and highlights the beauty of the buildings interior?

The only thing that disapoints is that there are two high level structures in the garden. I climbed up to the one toward the front right of the Villa but there is no entrance to the structure, not even a fake door. Havn't tried to access the more ornate tower towards the rear, but I don't see an entrance from where I look.

So I'm thinking 75% slots for garden and < 25% for interior..... Unless I put another floor in... I'm not putting another floor in because of the $%^* built in banisters upstairs that require steps to pass and mess up the idea of putting a complete floor in. For that reason alone this one will make a cathedral of it.

How so? You really think you earned it by doing that achievement? Or that your entitled to it because you bought the base game years ago?

I’m going to have a small nightstand in the middle of the main room. I’d like to add a single item on the nightstand, just can’t think of what.

    Sweetroll.

That said stripping the house was a little hard on those of us with very little house gear.

Anyone know what trees were out front in the small circle gardens?

Is there another source for the Ancient Blooming Ginkgo other than the crown store? I'm not seeing one.

Unfortunately there's not. A good non-crown alternative would be the Tree, Wide-Trunked Shade, available for 250g from Unwoltil in Alinor. Its dimensions and colouring are roughly the same, though it doesn't have the blossoms. If you would like one with blossoms, they also sell a blooming ginkgo for 2000g.

I am happy for the house, the outside is gorgeous, but the interior is less practical, maybe even odd.

What made me sad yesterday was to find that it was empty. They should have given us the option to upgrade it to the "unfurnished" version we saw in preview, because the plants and trees setup was really well done. I would have bought the upgrade.

They obviously want people to buy furniture packs, probably that is why they do not address the problems crafters post in the housing/crafting forums, like adding more furnishing plans, making easier to get culanda laquer, etc.

My plans with this house is a long term goal, I will furnish it slowly, hopefully one day it will be like I imagine it, but hopefully without spending on packs.

I wonder if they ever read threads like this and think something like, "You know, we could have just mentioned it wouldn't have a single decoration of any kind, and everybody would have been past it before they got their cool present."

I think they have communication allergies though. And epipens are expensive in the States.

Wonder if they read threads like these and think, "You know what? Maybe next time we just won't give anything away."

For those looking for plants, the furniture merchants right outside of Skywatch, Auridon has some incredible cherry trees, and the one in Belkarth, Craglorn, has some nice yellow flowering plants.

I usually don't look a gift horse in the mouth, however, this horse sure needs dentures!

Want sticker shock? Add up the 4-5 packs that themselves, have a limited number of items to just furnish the interior to a bare minimum, and gasp!! I calculated about 11,000 crowns and that is just starting to place a few items. I wonder if this house were to have been sold, with a furnished option, how much it would have cost compared to the other manors?

Now one could try to craft furnishings, but most if not all require Culanda Lacquer, which is not all that common, let alone knowledge of the required diagram, pattern etc. Even using crowns to buy individual items like a fire for that fireplace is 80 crowns itself. So, item costs will mount up quickly.

Yes one could also buy guild vendor items but hope you have deep pockets for the gold needed. The same for trees and plants. Many cost 5000-15,000 each (for huge homes like this).

Not complaining mind you, we indeed received a fun event and a free home/warehouse. But, very "crafty" of ZOS to have those furnishing packs ready for us buy eh!?

I've never really gotten into the housing thing here( I'll play Conan exiles if I get a housing bug and can design it from the ground up) but I do appreciate a free house. May even build some furniture now...

I know people who bought Summerset to get the "free" house/mount/pet while it was on sale too.

Hmm...bought Summerset...which the company knew was a broken addition to the game prior to release...no...this home was not free...it was a digital compensatory version of a “We’re Sorry, We F’d Up” without actually saying it.

As someone who works on a marketing team, I laugh at the people telling others to appreciate that it was "free".

The whole ploy was a marketing strategy. :D

We should all give a good round of applause to ZOS's marketing team and the teams who followed through to help them. You did good. I hope you met your goals.

Was eager to get the house yesterday. I only had Saint Delyn Penthouse up to this point, and only used it as a wayshrine/dumping ground. Thought it would be fun to start decorating the new house with some of the things I've picked up in my travels. My god that ish is tedious. I don't know how you decorator folks do it. I would like to fill the house piece by piece with pieces that I find/earn/craft, but if I spend more than 5 minutes in the housing editor I'll doze off.

The exterior is gorgeous though even without the trees, and it's nice to finally have a suitable place for my target dummies. Having Endless Hails and Caltrops drop out of the ceiling of a studio apartment was a bit weird.

After many hours of "work" - using many different villa preview videos on youtube as reference (thanks to all the uploaders!) - and after spending quite a bit of gold and some crowns, I've finally managed to recreate the garden the psijic villa had in the unfurnished preview T_T

Here's a list of all the furniture items required (exterior of the villa only; list has been corrected after I've found a list of all furnishings on a website):
        • Available in game for gold or from player crafting:
        • Alinor Archway, Timeworn x2 (200 Crowns; Craftable, Superior)
        • Alinor Lantern, Stationary x2 (190 Crowns; Craftable, Epic)
        • Alinor Shrine, Limestone x2 (150 Crowns; Craftable, Superior)
        • Alinor Shrine, Limestone Raised x2 (150 Crowns; Craftable, Superior)
        • Alinor Streetlight, Paired Wrought Iron x12 (410 Crowns; Craftable, Epic)
        • Alinor Streetlight, Wrought Iron x2 (410 Crowns; Craftable, Epic)
        • Sapling, Growing Shade x1 (25 Crowns; 100 Gold)
        • Shrub, Blooming Sunbird 1x (30 Crowns; 500 Gold)
        • Shrubs, Dormant Sunbird Cluster x8 (10 Crowns; 100 Gold)
        • Tree, Ancient Ginkgo x5 (90 Crowns; 750 Gold)
        • Tree, Blooming Ginkgo x3 (90 Crowns; 2,000 Gold)
        • Tree, Ginkgo x5 (70 Crowns; 500 Gold)
        • Tree, Squat Pink Cherry x1 (290 Crowns ; 10,000 Gold)
        • Tree, Tiered Light Cherry x3 (290 Crowns; 15,000 Gold)
        • Tree, Tiered Pink Cherry x1 (290 Crowns; 15,000 Gold)
        • Tree, Tiered White Cherry x1 (290 Crowns; 25,000 Gold)
        • Vines, Sun-Bronzed Ivy Cluster x9 (5 Crowns; 100 Gold)
        • Only available for crowns:
        • Alinor Column, Huge Timeworn x2 (200 Crowns)
        • Alinor Pergola, Purple Wisteria x3 (920 Crowns)
        • Topiary, Strong Cypress x4 (45 Crowns)
        • Tree, Ancient Blooming Ginkgo x3 (580 Crowns)
        • Tree, Vibrant Pink x2 (45 Crowns)
        • Vines, Sun-Bronzed Ivy Climber x1 (25 Crowns)
        • Vines, Sun-Bronzed Ivy Swath x3 (25 Crowns)
So that's at least 5,270 crowns for items that can only be bought with crowns (and around 325,000 gold to buy the rest from NPCs and players at current market prices).
If someone were to buy all items with crowns that would take 15,380 crowns if I'm not mistaken.

This is not meant to be a complaint. I just wanted to share the info for the unlikely case that someone might find it useful :)
My villa finally looks the way I wanted it to look now (my dream would be if the item cap were finally increased for large homes; 700 item slots are gone so quickly) :)

Edit: I've found a website listing all furniture items in the unfurnished version now thanks to a hint in another thread: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Grand_Psijic_Villa
I'm glad my own findings were so accurate! The only things I could't find are the 9 Vines, Sun-Bronzed Ivy Cluster. I'll have to check again. Maybe they were placed on top of the other vines, it's hard to see in the videos ^^ I also got 4 Tree, Tiered Light Cherry instead of three light ones and one Tree, Tiered Pink Cherry. Somehow I also missed the 2 Alinor Column, Huge Timeworn, haha. Everything else I actually got right ^^
