I had the exact opposite reaction when I bought the "unfurnished" hunters glade that came with 128 slots used already.

in my opinion it is better to have the choice and remove what is unwanted than to have nothing at all...

I wasn't surprised the inside stuff and the outside lights were gone, but I had hoped they would leave the plants, They could at least offer an Alinor Specific Yard Pack with all the stuff that was outside in the preview via the Crown Store.

FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.
Is the glass half full or half empty?

I'm still excited for the house - can't wait to start decorating it. But, that doesn't mean I can't be disappointed that it didn't come with the items in the preview we all saw.

It's great that some people prefer a blank slate, but others, like me, appreciate the few plants/trees and lights that come with the unfurnished version of a home. I can still remove everything if I want, and have those for other homes or to place elsewhere in the existing home. They're nice bonuses, for me, really - free furniture, if you will.

So, yeah, I'm going to have to buy some plants/trees from the in-game vendors, but that's not really a big deal. Though I would have liked to replicate the unfurnished version, I have no idea which plants/trees were there nor where they were placed.

It's minor, really, that we're getting a completely bare version, as there are in-game options to get plants/trees - you don't have to buy them from the CS. But it doesn't mean that I wouldn't have liked to have had those "unfurnished version" items.

I think that most people are really bothered by not having the pergolas or the fireplace/logs, but I'm such a terrible landscaper that not having trees/plants/etc. is more what I'm missing.

Also, I too, read in another thread that it's an issue with gifting homes. They can't gift a home with furnishings as they all have their own item ID. It's a limitation of the system, not a deliberate choice to bait and switch.

Just seen it for the first time. Its bloody huge!

    Best start saving furniture lol

It is a bit too large considering how few slots you actually can use to place items that you buy (with CS or Gold) or craft yourself. Nice space, but really need more slots to actually be able to use it.

Housing started out for me as a free wayshrine back to town for crafting and inventory management. Before I joined guilds and realized you can just travel to guild mates for free wayshrines. Then installed an addon that finds a guild mate automatically when I just right-click a zone on my map location list. But I digress.

Thing about this house is that it’s not even useful as a free wayshrine. There is no utility in porting to it. My hotel room in Vivec is still my main house.

I’m glad some people enjoy it though. Good event. If they removed “furniture” that was in PTS, that’s a little rediculous.

    ^My feelings exactly

A kind person in another thread linked me to this page which has all of the names of the trees and plants that were in the preview, so perhaps this may help you as it has helped me https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Grand_Psijic_Villa (He also said that the lay out may eventually be on the ESO Fashion website)

I'm still trying to find the in game merchants I need though to purchase some things (Am I going to need achievements? D: )

It's not that we're ungrateful for it...? It's more that the preview they had seemed like the real "unfinished" version (I'm new, so I had no idea the trees and things were something I'd have to place. When I saw the preview, I actually thought those trees and things were stationary items that could not be moved or changed) and now part of our item count has to go to putting those trees and things back in...when they could have just been a part of the way the outside of the house looked? But now it's really bare. It just feels like our item count gets unnecessarily consumed by simply making a property actually look more...well...complete, when the former preview that included trees was a much nicer starting point.

The other thing that's troubling me is that I can on partially remember how the thing used to look, and I really don't know what half of the items that were outside are named so that I can go buy them

You mean like literally every other house in the game? Or did you think the trees that came with other houses didnt count as furnishing items.

Actually, literally every other house in the game includes the trees in the "unfurnished" version...

And I even can't buy it on PTS to look closer and repeat...

I am curious to see what people actually do with them. Those houses are too large to be decorated in any meaningful way IMO with item counts being what they are.

    .

It is a dumping ground for all those furnishings taking up my precious inventory space. All those mismatched base items I find.

It certainly doesnt seem right that the item made available for preview is not the item which was provided. They should have provided the same unfurnished version that was available for preview.

Wow this place is amazing... I've buying low priced blueprints, recipes and stealing them ever since the announcement so got a great start. It was stated that this place would come unfurnished so no surprise here. Pretty awesome of ESO to give us this place has to be the coolest thing they have done since I've been playing.

They were always part of the count. Now you start at zero, instead of already having a lot of the slots already in use.

I gotta say folks, no one thought they put up those furnishing packages on the crown store for a reason? ROFL. You got something free, but it's kind of a bait and switch. They want your money. They want you to buy crown store furniture packages. I'm willing to bet a ton of you will do it too.

They also took the fire logs out of the fireplace that was in the unfurnished preview.
By the way only 1 fireplace in a place that big?
Do appreciate the free house though.

I kinda like the one fireplace, that room really looks like it could be a prestige suite or a charming kitchen. I hated my other house cause of all the fireplaces (not good for the lungs). I guess different tastes, huh.

Maybe, but it's more subtle than that.

They want you to waste your life furnishing it and in doing so, you'll renew your subscription.

Someone at work gifted me some free sweets I'm allergic to and therefore cannot eat. (Because they were otherwise going to throw them away.)

Do I also need to make a show of thanking them for a useless gift I now can't get rid of?

Seriously though I don't think there's anything wrong with letting ZOS know both what we liked and what we didn't like about this promotion so they can consider that feedback when making future events/rewards.

In my case I loved the actual event - getting the achievement myself was interesting but helping other people get it, and seeing groups of people (particularly at the Artaeum point which was often the last one) celebrating other people's achievement was a lot of fun and it was really nice to see everyone being helpful to each other in chat - offering teleports, escorts and advice. Plus the debate on the forum over whether we'd get it or not was fun.

But the rewards are not that interesting to me. The pet is ok, although I've never really wanted one of the ponies. The mount seems like a clash of two ideas - a very bright, flashy body covered with a plain brown blanket...it's like they were trying to appeal to people who like flashy mounts and people who like very plain ones by attempting both at the same time and the end result is it doesn't really work for either. I haven't decided if I'll use it or not but it won't be a main mount for any of my characters.

And the house is really not my thing. It's not convenient to anything so it's useless as a teleport, it's obviously using a temple/college model which makes for a very odd layout for a house that would be awkward to decorate as a house. The one thing I was actually looking forward to is using some of the furnishings I saw when previewing it in my other houses, and now that's gone. So I dumped some spare furnishings I've picked up from various places into it to free up the inn rooms so I can decorate those and probably won't go back until I want to retrieve some of those or add more.
