Please add an option to hide all friendly and non combat pets. They are annoying and make me feel like i am in pokemon world.

It has become rather comical. When I travel into a populated zone, before the screen finishes loading, I hear the sounds of a menagerie through my headset. Tamriel has become a zoo.

They do not block anything. Pets, even combat pets, have not had any resistance for years.

The dueling in major cities is much more annoying than pets could every be.

Agreed. It would be great if sorcerer pets and the warden bear could automatically despawn when you enter areas like the bank or crafting stations in a town. Especially those annoying flapping twilights which always seem to be on screen no matter how I angle the camera. (If you ever see someone standing against the back wall of the bank doing the inventory sorting animation they're probably there to avoid seeing the constant flapping.)

As far as I know the only combat in those places is with guards, who can't be harmed, so the pets are useless anyway, and they could always automatically respawn when the owner moves away from that area.

100% AGREE! So tired of sorcs and wardens dragging their pets through town. It's comical watching a sorc racing through town with a flapper flitting behind him and a clannfear/scamp scrambling to keep up. Then there are the bears which pretty much block things - like writ boxes.

At least they don't have collision any more. I remember getting stuck in the bank in Riften, when there were several clannfear blocking the door!

But, it's partly ZOS' fault, since they removed the ability to easily toggle them off. I'd love to have all summoned pets get unsummoned as soon as they enter towns, but I'm sure the ones who want to duel or go on a crime spree would complain that their pets won't be active when they need them.

So, just give us a toggle so we don't have to see these stupid things in towns.

Move a little bit and you will be fine. Very small and rare inconvenience at times it really matters.

But they can distract guards and allow you to escape through the door. So they are actually useful even there.

I'm curious, what would cause the devs to remove accessability to despawning/dismissing pets (combat or otherwise)? What was the problem, and what has it solved?

I'm baffled that this isn't an option, or at least one that's accessible. It's a pity because while I would like to take pets with me to different places, I'm not going to if I can't dismiss them with ease. Not looking forward to playing Sorc now if it means inconveniencing people unnecessarily.

What about the current way to toggle off pets do you find difficult? I mean, yeah, you have to go in a few menus to do it, but I don't feel it's hard. Pause/Menu -> Character -> remove effect. Done.

Wait wait wait, you're saying you can click through them? Because I can't click through them, and that would end my annoyance immediately.

*Just the combat pets, I can click through all the misc vanity pets, and so they don't bother me at all.

I wouldn’t mind the option to hide everybody’s pets for only one reason. It might help with performance with not as much on the screen.

Odd that I have never had that issue. Has to be extremely rare and very specific situations if it actually does occur. It does not seem to be a common or widespread occurrence due to the lack of interest in this thread. My guess is in those extremely rare occasions the player is just not lining up correctly with the interactable, not that the pet actually blocks it.

There is actually a potential combat issue with hiding pets. Tank trying to pull in an add and the add has immunity but the tank would not know why because he turned off pets. That alone is a reason for not being able to turn off seeing pets and nerfing pets is not a good way to go.

Considering OP is really just complaining because he finds them annoying is obviously not justification either.

I don't know how rare it is for you but every time there's a freaking bear or flappy blocking my steal /craft / writ target it's an exercise in micropositioning to get a clicky action again. And it happens A LOT to me. It's very irritating and the reason I have no pets or summons unless in combat. Sadly not everyone has the manners to unsummon in town.

I do all 7 writs on 6 characters per day and never had this issue. I do them in popular Alinor and before that Belkarth and Wrothgar. I have never had this issue so it is clearly very rare.

Maybe you have the worst RNG in the game.

That's because the banker and the crating stations in belkarth are in completely different locations.

It's mainly a problem where the banker is. Usually because hoarders spend so much time there playing with their inventories.

Forgot I was doing my writs in Vivec City before Summerset where the banker is right there. Cannot think of a place with a banker so much in the middle of the crafting. Never had the issue. At one point I used one of the busiest cities, Rawl Kha without issue.

Again, maybe you just have the worst RNG.

Is anyone able to make a video of the problem with pets blocking interactable objects and NPCs for those who don't understand what happens?

I'm not sure what the difference is (maybe being in first person helps?) but I know for me and many other people it's a very common problem and apparently others never see it at all. If there is some kind of simple solution so this never happens I'd love to know what it is but trying to find an answer is impossible when the people who may know cannot even understand the question.

I think it's more likely that because this has been brought up so many times and utterly ignored by ZOS people have given up mentioning it.

I did come across someone today with their banker out and was right next to a wayshrine. I walked over to see if I could interact with the wayshrine though the banker and could not.

It was a situation that was easily rectified by just moving a small over a bit and as I stated before, this seems to be a situation not very common.

Regardless, it could very well be something that is not easy for Zos to fix, though as players we tend to think anything is easyh. Making it to where we cannot see the pets does not remove them and as such may not sold the issue. it really comes down to how difficult it would be to eliminate the issue vs the reward for that effort.

Maybe. But if you're saying Vivec, then cast your mind back to when the Necro set got nerfed, which was around the same time.

This resulted in a drop in the number of fighting pets people were carting around. People also swapped to warden then.

    Really. YDK.

Pets are annoying, both combat (matriarch, bear) and non-combat.
Mounts are also annoying, with how magical they've gotten.
Really wish there was a setting to hide all non-combat pets and show all mounts as generic horses.
