Sorry to only quote this part of your post but I LOVE reading this and can completely relate. I remember for a long long long time, I would get utterly destroyed in Cyrodiil.I have so many cherished memories already but my first solo kill in PvP comes to mind immediately. I had been struggling in Cyrodiil for so long as a new player. I felt like a remora, leeching off of gigantic zergs. But I learned slowly.
One day inside a Bruma building, I had to step away from the computer for a moment and when I came back I was being attacked by a Sorceror. I leapt back into control and stabilized the situation. It was a hard fought match: Neither of us were very good in retrospect but over time my patient tanky Magplar approach was able to withstand his damage and slowly whittle his health down. The fight may have lasted almost 10 minutes. It was exhilarating, and in the end, I WON. My first kill. All me. I even started the fight AFK. It was so inspiring. That was a sign that I was getting better, it was what I needed.
