Should eso + craft bag be given to all in exchange for infinite space?

There's no trade off to offer, really. Keep them wanting to pay, and give all paying subscribers unlimited space. Hell I'd say make a premium subscription option for the infinite bank space. But if the trade off is giving freebies infinite craft bag space, HELL NO!

Firstly the OP clearly said they are a subscriber. Their motivation was wanting infinite bank space included in their sub and I guess they thought giving the craft bag to non-subscribers would increase support for the idea.

Secondly there are no free players in ESO. You have to buy at least the base game to play and many people who don't subscribe do buy expansions and DLC, and crowns, as well.

Im a little indifferent on whether give it or not. But I totally agree that with each patch there are more and more things to collect, and atleast with each new chapter there should be a new uograde option for the bag and the bank (2 would be awsome). I now there are new home storage chests but they are much more time consuming then the bag and even then the bank.

This game has a VERY fair FTP model. The craft bag is one of the big perks for serious players who are willing to support the game. Keep it this way.

    What's "FTP"? Free to play?

I'm assuming it means something else as the game isn't free to play.

No one here is playing for free. Everyone's purchased at least the base game.

I bought the base game on steam for £7.50 I got my money's worth in the first week.

I sub because I like the game and think it deserves to be properly paid for.

This is assuming the person has the max amount of toons allowable, and all toons have their inventory maxed. Either way, Monster sets alone take up 204 spaces, assuming you only need one set of each in heavy, medium and light. Then there is seige for Cyrodil, which doesn't stack, so that takes up a ton of room. Then there are crafting surveys, maps, master writs, weapon and armor sets, collectibles, potions, foods, sets of training gear for leveling up new toons, stacks of key shards, stacks of soul gems, stacks of lockpicks. If someone is fully and actively playing the full range of this game, it is unbelievably easy to fill up that inventory.

Wild idea here. Have you tried completing the surveys, treasure maps, and master writs to get them out of your inventory?

I have yet to find a need to have every monster set in every incarnation. In fact, I have yet to find a need for more than half of them, let alone a need to run something like Selene's in light.

How many foods are you making? I have 3 types max at any one time on one character.

How many sets of training gear do you need? Shouldn't you decon that set once that new character is done leveling?

"Stacks of soul gems" might be my favorite. I have close to 800 one one character if you combine full and empty. Takes up 4 slots in my inventory. Whatever will I do with the other 140+ open slots on that toon?

Sounds like you are holding onto a lot of useless armor sets.

Yes the crafting bag should be available outside of ESO + but I do not agree it should be given away to all.

I learned to live without it. You can have your own guild bank for matz and additional storage in houses. Once a year put everything in the bag when eso+ is free. Don't store set pieces that are not div or impen.

Sure does suck though when the game deletes your stacks of mats due to guild bank bugs.

The entire storage system is garbage, and they aren't going to change it. Boatloads of gear and stupid expensive gold sinking fees to increase storage space. Ridiculous 1 a day increase on mounts..Have said it many times and will continue to say it...z0$ devs and whoever is in charge need to be fired. They are unimaginative, lazy, fickle and downright dense. This is not written angrily, but curtly and matter of fact.

I'd go for it if non subscribers got a limited craft bag and subscribers got the usuall plus extra bank space(maybe like100 slots while subscribed)

Let me get this straight... some of you guys would give up INFINITE BANK SPACE, just so you could deprive others of the friggin' crafting bag?

    Short answer: Yes

I actually was willing to pay extra for infinite bank space as well as keep my infinite craft bag. I'm not selfish! I work hard so that I can have nice things. I contribute to society. How is that selfish?

I think some respect is due to those of us who have purchased all the dlc separately. It has really added up over time and having been with the game since it launched on ps4 I have taken many long breaks to play many other games and with vr out now I think those off us that don't want to pay 180 bucks a year for bag space but have paid for each subsequent dlc release deserves some slack. Lets be honest at the end of the day crowns, 10% xp…. playing with costumes colors... whatever it is nothing really affects game play negatively like the inventory space game zenimax is playing with us.

This. Infinite bank space =/= craft bag

Infinite Space + Craft bag > Craft Bag alone

    That's why I voted yes.

As we continue to gain more and more dlc new styles and traits our banks are getting more and more filled. Even for our eso + subscribers. And even for those that don’t subscribe it’s even worse. Now I am an eso + subscriber myself and even I feel that the craft bag should be available to all, however many people only subscribe for it. So I’m offering a solution. What if eso plus subscribers got the craft bag and infinite bank space? Would you accept that trade off?

The only issue is that issue throws massive amounts of sets at you with a horrid trait RNG as it progression system. , and the inventory system is a friggin mess these two things dont mix well at all

If ESO+ players had infinite bank space, what would be the point of them having the craft bag?

The answer to that question is probably either "well, none, ESO+ players would just have all their craft stuff put in the bank and ditch the craft bag while subscribed" or "well all the crafting goods would still be separately organised from stuff in the bank, nice and organised apart!"
    K, fair enough, me.

    So anyway,
Requiring so much bank space even excluding all the crafting materials is something I can only imagine for players that wanna collect a few of every equipment set, furnishings, laundered goods, etc, but so much so that they need an infinite amount because making alt item mule toons and buying max capacity bank space isn't enough. If you have a different, more pressing reason why you needed infinite bank space yesterday, feel free to educate me, tyvm. ;)

I feel like ZoS may feel the demand is too niche, looking at it from that end... but I don't speak for ZoS. Perhaps they will find the OP very touching and be inspired. \_(' , ')_/ iunno... iunno any of you... or me.. who am I again? what?

More'd probably just conclude you don't wanna subscribe for the crafting bag, if anything.

But most importantly of all, the bottom line is this: .... I don't really care too much. I won't scoff it if it's added but I won't vote yes and/or pretend like I need infinite bank space.

It always baffles me when people blindly spout replies like "no people have to pay" for a basic feature like inventory space, or when they say "lolno I want to be selfish and use this to my advantage even though this would make everyone's lives so much easier". My favorite opposition to this is that "ESO+ needs to be special!", which never fails to make my shake my head.

    1) People shouldn't have to pay for inventory space in a game that refuses to expand the max number of bank/inventory slots, despite the number of mats that keep getting added to the game. I'm pretty sure that the max number of combined inventory slots you can unlock for your bank and on any given character hasn't changed since ESO launched, despite the fact that droves and droves of various mats have been and will continue to be introduced to the game. This is one of the biggest reasons I feel craft bags should be given to all players as a base feature. If ZOS isn't going to increase a player's max inventory space in any other way, it's nothing short of BS to force people to pay out for means of relief in inventory management.

    2) People shouldn't have to create alts in order to use them as pack mules to carry mats. When a game has so many mats that people need to create numerous characters to store all of them, that says to me bad inventory design. I will admit that I've not really played any other MMOs, so I can't say if this is a norm or not, but if it is it's a pretty crappy one. Characters should be made because you want to play them, not out of necessity to store all the stuff you need for a base part of the game.

    3) For the selfish lot who want craft bags to stay exclusive, let me ask you this. How often do you find yourselves without your sub? How frustrating does it get when you have to swap characters multiple times to deal with your inventory, or when you have to constantly make trips to the bank to deposit things from an inventory who's space is being eaten with all the voracity of a starving wolf? Now imagine how people without the craft bags feel when they have to go through this day in and day out. And before anyone spews, "Well if a person is that inconvenienced they can just pay up like the rest of us do lol", maybe take a moment to look outside your own little bubble and consider people might not have the means to pay for a sub. As someone who supports myself and my mother on a low-wage job, taking care of the expenses of two people and animals on a one-person salary, I can attest to the number of times I have to let my sub expire in favor of more important things like gas or food money. The periods in which I'm without my sub, I literally don't open any of my daily writ boxes until I've got my sub back again, because I simply don't have the space for all those mats I get from them.

    4) And for those screaming that crafting bags need to stay ESO+ exclusive to make the sub special, I hate to break it to you, but it's already special because of ALL the other perks it gives. Free access to all DLC? Double bank and furnishing slots? 1,650 free Crowns every month starting next month? The ability to dye costumes? The people whining that crafting bags needs to stay exclusive to keep ESO+ "special" sound as entitled as the people they accuse of wanting free things do.

And here's something I don't think any of the naysayers against this have considered; there can be a "free" version of the crafting bags without taking that ever-so-important exclusiveness away entirely. Make it have reduced capacity (though make it enough to actually make it useful to players) and the people who want/need the additional crafting bag space can then upgrade to the more expansive bags of ESO+. I personally would rather see crafting bags as a whole moved to the vanilla game, but I don't see that happening any time soon, sadly.

Oh, btw, you can't really have "unlimited" inventory of any kind, be it bank, character, crafting bag, etc. One has to take into account the face that the storage space for the megaservers isn't infinite itself. There has to be a limit of some kind.

No, ESO+ would lose a LOT of subscribers, but bank space needs to be upgraded soon, I would suggest.

I think this is probably the correct answer and a bank upgrade would probably be the right way to go about it.

You're right though to point out with all the new DLC content and the motifs that go along with them, the current bank capacity just isn't enough.

Items are very easy to store in the game's database. They are basically just an I.D. number. That is all. So they shouldn't take up much memory. Hardly any in fact.

Not sure what playing the flute has to do with my comment.

I was just pointing out that storing multiple items shouldn't put much stress on the game engine. Once the actual graphic and effect for the item is created/programmed - all copies of the item would need to distinguish itself is a simple ID number for the engine to read. So the memory requirements to store 1 item or 1000 of that same item wouldn't be much different. So if there is a good reason to limit storage space, that isn't one of them.

The crafting bag is a huge perk for ESO +. So getting rid of that would probably cost them money, and businesses rarely make decisions that are going to cost them money. So I think a more realistic solution here is to just ask for an increase to bank capacity. Which sounds reasonable enough to me. Because in all honesty, bank upgrades should come along with every DLC.
