Magicka sorceror, because the idea of being able to summon daedra sounded awesome to me at the time. I only used heavy armor for the first couple of months I played, because I didn't understand how people were able to survive in light armor. LOL! Now I only use light armor.

I started at launch when Hybrids were still a thing.

Breton Nightblade, Heavy Armor, 2 Handed and Bow. Then I tried every weapon before I settled on 2 Handed and Bow. Then when 1.6 came around, I tried Stamina, and that just does not work on a Breton. Recent respec to Magblade is so much better

Haha. Dual wield Torugs swords resto back (because it gave good magic return on heavy) first Seducer, then Julianos, lastly, willpower. Trapping webs was magic based and a spammable. Made my own gear.
    Also, overload :'(

Breton magplar, La, destro resto. Dark flare was awesome when almost nobody ran stam and dodge. Hell, shields weren't huge at first. Sun shield stopped magicka recovery. Block casting became a thing quickly though along with bash weaves

My first build was my still-main character, Leskandera the fried-faced dunmer stamina nightblade arrowhappy stabby girl. Not because of any game mechanic considerations, just because that's how I envisioned that character from the backstory I had thought up for her... ex rank-and-file archer in the morrowind army turned adventurer and going from her bow to twin daggers (since archers generally prefer not to burden themselves with overly large backup weapons, tho I admit I may have been inspired by Legolas from the LotR movies a bit...)

I found her to be more difficult to do well with then many later alts, prolly because I mostly PvE, and nightblades had been a tad underwhelming there... things have gotten a bit better since as numerous rebalancings have changed the situation a little. And of course I have improved my ESO-ing skills a little as well...

But I still have tons of fun playing her!

Incidentally, I -always- start any such game with two possible builds, one the "sneaky rogue/assassin" type, and one the "magical artillery caster" type; one girl and one boy... Leskandera was the one, Kelasendar is the other...

My first "build" was my Nord DK tank back when the game first dropped. I thought I was pretty awesome because at level 20 I crafted my first real "set" of gear... at the Davon's Watch crafting station, and turned it purple, because why not.

    So much fail.

A hybrid jack-of-all-trades DK that focused on Earthen Heart abilities and was supposed to offer support in a group with buffs, crowd control abilities, and some heals using a bow and restoration staff (so my idea was to be some kind of off-healer, off-tank, and buffer that could deal some dps as well and survive really well on its own; a bit like bard-type classes that exist in some other MMOGs; only with better survival) :)

I regularly used Molten Armaments to give myself and any allies around me a strong buff to crit chance for 6 seconds, used Fragmented Shield for some protection and a bit of extra damage, Magma Shell was my ult, and on my off-bar I used Healing Springs and Mutagen to help allies in PvP (and in group dungeons as an assistant healer).

When I fought a group of 3 enemies in PvE, I used Magnum Shot on the first one to disorient him for 5 seconds (disorient was a stun back then that ended as soon as an affected enemy took damage), knocked down the second one with Stone Giant, dealt some damage to the third one with light attacks and Venom Arrow, knocked down the second one again when Stone Giant had expired after 2 seconds, finished the third one, disoriented the first enemy again, killed the second one now, then finally dealt with the only one that was left :) (Snipe was completely useless in PvE as it had a 3 seconds cast-time.)

That playstyle was necessary for me back then to survive against a group of 3 NPCs in Cyrodiil ^^ Cyrodiil being the only place where I could get past level 21 back in one of the first few open beta week-ends I participated in (only the starter islands and the first main PvE zones in each Alliance were unlocked, so since my character was in the Dominion, the level 15 skeletons in the northernmost part of Auridon were the highest level monsters I could fight in PvE zones and I stopped getting any XP from them at level 21; I think Banished Cells was unlocked, too, but the monsters in there were lv 15 or lower as well, were much harder, and didn't give more XP than the easier skeletons in northern Auridon) :)

So I actually grinded all the way to level 50 on those open beta week-ends just killing regular monsters in Cyrodiil, I discovered a lot sets from random drops that I had never heard of before, and had some fun in PvP (where I admittedly had quite an advantage over most players since I was much higher level than almost anyone else, but at least I didn't have a broken build that was completely OP so my enemies had a good chance of fighting back unless they were completely isolated :))

First build in 2014 was an argonian templar healer called "Heilt-mit-Hopfensmoothie" (i thought its argonian language but now i suspect its german instead :smirk: ) and he is still on duty (among 11 others, over the years) in Cyrodiil.

Who knows what friends I would have made if I stayed in DC I wouldn't have made some of the AD friends I have now

Oh god I wish I could forget it.

Before my templar went full healer, I stuck Kena, Willpower, and Kagrenac on her in a vain effort to get more dps. I refused to use any actual damaging skills, feeling they used to much magicka.

I would only heavy attack with a resto and use BoL.

    It was rough.

Born, Bred & Made in Manchester UK, RIP 22 Angels. 22/05/2017

    PC-EU

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.
