Two imperial codes... same box???

So, I just got back from GameStop with my Imperial Edition.

Molag Bal is beautiful, the book is excellent and will make for some fun reading later... but I have another issue.

I have two Imperial codes and two Explorer Pack codes. From the same box. And both are unique.

I have photos but I haven't edited them to take the numbers out yet. @ZOS_AlanG‌ , @ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌ , you want to shed some light on this? Or what I should do here? Because if I got two keys, SOMEONE probably got shafted out of theirs....
We have contacted our Customer support team to help you solve your issue.

Somewhere out there someone got posted a box full of codes, and no game cds or statue.

I sure hope someone didn't get a box full of statues. That guy is going to be sour.

I'm just hoping to get a CS response here because I honestly don't know what to do here. One of them could be used already therefore invalid, or who knows what.

That sounds like balls right there.

I ordered the CE specifically for the book and statue.

Is anyone at ZOS working this weekend? I don't want to redeem either of these two slips in the event that Bad Things happen, and the grace ends tomorrow.

Well, you bought the game. You are entitled to one of them. I would hold on to the second one, I'm sure someone will thank you for being honest. But you have every right in the world to use one of them.

Just input one of them, they're not tied to the box in any way and it doesn't matter which one you use.

Kudos for your honesty! I would think that you'd be perfectly safe to use the codes from one of the sheets, which is exactly what you're entitled to do. Other than that, keep the second unused until you hear something official from Zenimax.

    Aye, but I'm stupidly paranoid.

I've *never* seen this before. Blank or missing code sheets, yes. Two codes in the box? Not unless it has a "friend" code in it. Which this isn't.

Worst part is, I feel absolutely horrible that I ended up with two sheets because there are people here that either got blanks or don't have their box yet.

Understandable, but that isn't your fault so you shouldn't feel bad at all. It's a simple mistake that occured during the packing of the box, but as I and others have said, you are perfectly entitled to use the codes from one of the code sheets.

It's not your fault, someone in the factory messed up when packing the boxes. You had no control over it, and there is no issue with using one of the codes, because you paid for it. Nothing will happen. I'm sure they will thank you for being honest and not using the second code (legally speaking, you could use the second code even though it would be ethically wrong).

Not sure on the legal part, but ethical yeah.

Yes, and hanging onto the second code until you get instructions from Zenimax is the ethical, reasonable, and honest thing to do, and I applaud you for it. But you paid for one of the codes and you are entitled to one, so there is no reason to not use one of them.

I would redeem the first paper of codes and sell the 2nd paper of codes on eBay.

Nothing illegal from you doing that. When your box was assembled, a 2nd paper of codes was put in instead of only 1 and that is not your fault nor is it illegal to profit from someone else's mistake.

ZOE is just going to tell you to keep the 2nd paper of codes. ZOE isn't going to make you send them back. It's a manufacturing defect that ended up working in your favor, the consumer, instead of the maker of the product.

You are thinking into this way, way too much.

Also you are not the first person who opened an item and had a 2nd set accidentally put in there too. Ni No Kuni Wizard's Edition I got 2 DLC codes instead of only 1. Sold the extra on eBay.

If I got 2 and I got a response from ZOS that said to keep the second one, I would offer it to one of the people on here that was missing theirs.

Think Char was talking about ZOS.

    As in:
"How can you (ZOS) screw up that big"

But is it really shocking that two made their way into one box? After all, some people got none whatsoever.
Whichever company Zeni had/has boxing these things seems to be all sorts of special.

    And to the OP--

A hat-tip to your honesty, good sir.
But don't let this keep you from playing.
Like several others have said: use one and stow the other until Zeni gets back to ya.

Don't hang around here on the forums when you can be playing!
After all, if you're here, how are we--the barred--supposed to live/play vicariously through you?

Im here because I was having back pain and went to lie down. Its almost 2330 here.

I registered one set of codes and the other sits on my desk, awaiting a verdict.

Its probably a manufacturing error. ZOS doesn make the boxes, and theyre not packaged by hand. The two sheets were lightly stuck together and theyre made of basically magazine paper so I can see it happening.

I would just *really* like an official word on what to do here lol.

If they dont give one, Im unsure what *to* do.
