Most of us have provided varying degrees of opinions regarding the proposed changes in MurkMire. I was wondering where we stand after the latest proposals.

    Testing is obsolete.
we need mass of crybots, demanding, unsubbing, bribing etc, just like sorc do.
Everything else seems not to work at all.

I dont know exactly, I feel like we have just got knock out this patch. Tired of update 20. There is just so many issues with this patch and trying to get zos to understand the issues is just draining to say the least.

Even after all that feedback on shields were still no where close to a good solution, pvp is fine but pve is just screwed.

They just went so backwards this patch idk

Don't think they listen tbh, they just make wholesale changes according to whatever idea crosses their intern's mind that morning.

I gave up testing after Morrowind..

Needed the space on my drive + the main thing I play - cyro - just wasn't available anyways - not to mention the really limited period where you can use your real character - since without that, there's no way to get a real feel for the changes.
Nah, without PVP and without your usual characters (and immediate access to new/changed sets for them), it was a bit pointless for me.

I found an issue with World in Ruin passive not affecting Trapping Webs. It was fixed in the latest PTS patch. Looking at the PTS patch notes it is very eash to see that ZOS is continually fixing things based on player feedback

There are probably three primary reasons, at least that I can think of , that things are not changed based on PTS testing and feedback:

First, the issue is more difficult to fix than it is to identify. ZOS may not be able to identify a solution to these issues. Thus they go into a stack of things that need to be solved some day.

Second, there is a limited amount of time between PTS patches and some issues are deemed not as significant and not as important to fix at this time. This relates to the difficulty to fix them, these issues will be addressed at some point.

Third, the "feedback" and "testing" is not actually being done by players. A vast majority of the feedback on the PTS threads is done by players who are not testing at all. Some openly state that they are not or can not test. Others rant and rave about the problems of certain abilities without actually trying them or providing any valuable data. Some players do test but do not adjust or allow for the recent changes, this leads to feedback that is virtually useless as skills that are changed are balanced differently and often must be utilized differently. ZOS must then wade through a pile of misinformation in order to try and find any reasonable data.

Yeah, sorcs look amazing in Nerfmire with the upcoming changes.

Can I have some of that Skooma you're smoking?

Unless it pertains to a dungeon or trial, it seems PTS feedback is sucked up by a black hole never to be addressed or acknowledged, especially if you submit it via the in-game reporting tools. There is never any follow-up, not even a summary post here on the forums tackling the bigger or unexpected issues reported by players which they intend to fix.

Worst of all, apart from @ZOS_Finn, there is never any appreciation or even a “thank you” from ZOS regarding player efforts on the PTS. So yeah, it’s very easy to empathize with the futility of it all. I can only imagine the dreary novel Upton Sinclair could write about this whole mess.

I do test out and send feedback for new features. e.g. pandarian motifs being crown crate only or jewelry crafting being a pointless and hideous grind.

I never test out new stories and zones, cause thats the part of the game i care for most, and i dont wanna get it spoiled with glitched npcs or so.

I dont care for combat changes and see them as given. I will adapt to whatever they throw at me. For me it feels like the devs play a game of whack a mole there with randomly hitting or missing things. I fail to see a vision or grand picture for the game.

The big "mistakes" for me r trying to balance pve and pvp together and making everything scaling percentually leading to exponetial growth in numbers where a linear growth would be preferable.
The approach of "making all classes equal" for Tank, dd and healer is questionable at best. I fail to see any connection between "reasons why a class is considered meta" and "things that get buffed/changed on non-meta classes".

Looking at the story of damage shields: (spoiler cause to long)
I think there was a time in 2014 where blazing shield was op and got changed/nerfed. Dont really remember.
Stacking of Harness and Ward became a "problem" for the first time in 2015. ppl could stack up ~40k shields in both pve and pvp.
For me the "reasonable choices" were either make all shields scale with max hp thus making everyone equally weak or make all shields scale with the sum of max resources divided by three thus making everyone equally strong.
The chosen action was to create shieldbreaker set and cut shields in half by battlespirit. That created a world where players were given the choice to either keep shieldstacking and risk getting gunned down by an otherwise useless set or drop shields completely. imho, it didnt solve the problem but delayed it, until now.
In 2018, we again reached a point were shieldstacking was considered a problem. Despite pushing out two more options to deal oblivion dmg aside from shieldbreaker.
For me, yet again the obvious thing to do is the same as three years ago: max hp or max pool by three.
first attempt for a fix: casttime on some shields.
second attempt: exclude harness and ward from battle spirit, have them scale with max mag and cap them by max hp.
yes lets make shields behave even more different than before...
tbf, those two shields r now considerably worse than the other barely used class shields. They prolly wont become a problem ever again.
My question here is: Why did u not fix that problem three years ago, in a way that kept all shields equal and being good, not op and not useless?
