The places where people hang out not doing anything urgent are mainly the crafting towns, like Vivec City, Rawlk'ha, Mournhold or Shornhelm. Mainly Vivec City these days, I think.

I was going to make that point - go where there are crowds, where there are crafting stations, where there are active guilds.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Considering how many dungeons there are, it's interesting to think that "there's no reason to interact with others" could ever be valid. I mean, we certainly survive without any forms of communication... but that's a necessity often enough, not a preference.

Unless like me you don't do dungeons at all..

I know this is late advice... but you could have spend just 1-2 hours farming resources like silk, wood, ore and select flowers and mushrooms to sell in zone chat to get the required gold to up bag space to 90. But on the bright side you did support the game devs with those 2000 crowns.

Oh gosh, no one gave me a glance until I hit level 50. You're not alone and it's not personal. I see you're getting some help already, but the advice to explore and learn your character is a good one. Before you know it you'll have four guilds then be dropped by one because YOU were the one not being social enough.

It happened to me. Still stings a bit when I come across their trader somewhere.

In the beginning leveling up is quick so I think you're pretty normal. Although I'm semi-retired and have no idea what normal really is anymore. ;)

Don't worry about buying bag space or hoarding gold quite yet. At that level you should be questing and learning your character, not stressing about bag space. Deconstruct extra gear, or sell it to a merchant to make some easy change. If you gather unrefined materials and get a gold mat, that would easily net you some quick cash.

There are people advertising guilds in chat constantly, just be patient. Hang around in a populated zone for 10ish minutes and there will be at least one. Questing, random dungeons, and fighting world bosses is a good way to meet people.

Well, I know it's too late, but before I played this game I actually studied a little bit, especially about what I can and cannot do with crowns, but most especially how to build.

When I started, I was just roaming around Khenarthi's Roost and doing some quest. I was I actually surprised I got 12k gold back then. I think I was at level 9 when I decided to make this game as my main game. Auridon introduced me to Dolmens, got curious as to what people are talking in chat, decided to observe players behavior, figured out there's a rotation to Dolmens, joined a group, and that's how I started. Then someone told me about Alik'r. I figured out how to use the navigators, because I was not in any guild at that time. It was in Alik'r Dolmens that I spent probably the first 5-6 months in this game.

Do you play on the na or eu server? i invite people to the guild on the eu server that i am a member of all the time.

Lots of times though i do a dungeon and fo to the next toon for daily craftong and random dungeon just because i have 9 toons on eu and 4 on na and it's a lot of time to maintain them all. Not to mention what i'm doing with each one and how to play them optimally is a drain on time and patience.

If i see you there, i'll invite you

Welcome to the world of MMOs

Where the idea is to work and play together, yet nobody can bother to do that because Devs make everything so simple you don't have to work with anybody.

I long for the days of EQ 1 and even the early days of WoW. Games like EQ and UO were to far in requiring groups but still some of my best friends were met while playing the game and bonding over something that happened.

WoW though hit it perfectly at launch. Every zone you could solo 90% of or so, but there were quest or random enemies that required a group which forced you to talk to people, again I've met a few life long friends from 2004-2008 or so before they started making everything just face roll content.

After about 2008 every MMO you can basically solo everything except a couple dungeons here and there and Trial/Raid. So everybody just puts on the blinders and gets mad anytime they feel somebody stole their kill or something.

I can't wait for games like Pantheon to come, made by Brad McQuaid dev of EQ, but in all reality I know I won't have time to actually play it. There is another one called Chronicles of Elyria, but again it's so in depth I know I don't have time to play at this point in my life, but these two games are going to be throw backs to those old days where you couldn't just be an *** to everyone and still accomplish everything in the game.

    Barrens chat. Best times ever.

Aye. Been asking for help getting some dungeon achievements for over a week on several of my guilds. Even resorted to bribing people with gold and gold mats. Nothing. I have this feeling that people just don't care. Didn't use to be that way though.

Asking and bribing won't work. Having friends and being nice will. If you're one of those ghosts that no one ever saw on chat and you asked for help, well... And if that's not the case, look for better guilds. I'm in 5 nice ones, 4 bring extra filled with nice people. Never failed to get any help.

Keep looking, the right guild for you will show up.

Everyday in almost every zone within my 2 hours of play I see guilds in zone chat recruiting new members.

Try going to craglorn or any starting place in the 3 factions or the capitals of dc ad and ep.

I play on xb na and it's very social easy to get in any guild and run dungeons. Try group finder for a random and write in grp chat any of you in a guild I can join?

You can use the group finder tool for help with dungeons. That would be a lot easier than trying to find a guild to help you do them.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

I have had the exact opposite experience with eso, the social aspect and friends i have made are a large portion of the reason im still here.

not all great people but i would say the majority are.

try running things or pvp'ing with players and then asking for an inv to their guild. I met a great killed and alot of friends after one night running in pvp with them

Bag space is relative easy to get to 90.. I get 10 early level as award, not sure if that's just ESO plus, Pack Merchant in cities, sometimes in merchant area, sometimes in banks. 2000 for 10 and 5100 for another 10. It's harder without ESO plus because of crafting mats. I also don't auto loot everything any more.. Just too much junk..

    2. I don’t have 11000 gold

The thing is i'm a relatively new player only at level 16. I started Monday of last week. I only got 3000 gold. I need 8000 more to increase my bag space. I was in davons watch on pc na "looking for a guild" multiple times. Not one person acknowledged me

I could definitely be reading this wrong, but don't assume that if you join a guild you will get money or anything. I mean there are friendly people in this game, and some that might even give you some money, but I wouldn't have that expectation if I were you.

Nobody invites me to join a guild after i ask in the zone chat or helps me with a dungeon or anything really.

ESO is FAR from antisocial LoL. But, I'd say it will be unlikely that you would find anyone who gives two poops in a barrel about inviting ppl to guilds in small towns.

The capital cities are where you will find the most people in chat. There are several places all over that usually have a bunch of people around. Stormhaven, Summerset, and Reaper's March, are usually where myself, and many other's go to chill, chat, smoke skooma, share Lusty Argonian tales, argue intensely about lore, Shank people and steal every last penny they own, annoy our groupmates by pissing off all the gaurds and getting them to attack said group mates, beg chat to invite us to guilds so we can finally sell that overly priced sweet roll we've had molding for the past month, ETC ETC...... OH, and giggle at RPers. Quietly in DM's, of course. LOL <3 Cheers

Welcome to the world of MMOs

Where the idea is to work and play together, yet nobody can bother to do that because Devs make everything so simple you don't have to work with anybody.

Isn't that the bloody truth. Final Fantasy XI was the first MMO I really got into, and you couldn't solo jack diddles in that game. It was kind of a bummer sometimes waiting around forever to get a party together, but man was it rewarding and fun when you got the team together and did things. It also made for a much tighter knit community (my opinion).

Tried a few MMOs here and there after that but never really found anything that kept me interested. When TESO was announced I was overjoyed. It blew my mind at how dumbed down of an experience it was, and I still to this day cannot understand how or why the main story quests of TESO are forced to be single player.

It's an MMO .... and they make you play solo.

That seems to be the thing though now. MMO just means there are other people in the world with you and that's it. No interaction required (almost). I'm just coming back after being gone for 3 years because some friends grabbed the game. A lot has changed, but I'm still seeing the same core issues. Though I don't think that will ever change. Today's players are much different than they were 10+ years ago.

Go to Stonefalls. Read a lot of guild advertisements in Stonefalls zone chat. Perhaps go to Grahtwood or perhaps Mournhold in Deeshan.
