Interesting, I get guild invites while standing around at the Undaunted Camp pretty often. Also get them while in Random Dungeons. I don't accept them though since I have a guild, and don't like trying to keep track of several guilds at the same time.

Wish I could throw you an invite to our guild, but we just recently capped and don't have any openings right now.

@geekboy09 What is your in game name? I can add you to a guild I am in. If you want.

PS presonally, I didn't have any guild until I reached my vet levels. but that was my style (yes, I am a loner, playing an MMO-RPG lol). I kinda like exploring around, learning the game. My very first vet pledge was nerve-wrecking. at that time, I had zero sets on my. lol. was basically PvPing, and had no clue what gear sets were. I look back now, and a guild would have been nice to have when I had no idea how to do anything on this game. But my point is, you will be just fine without a guild, eventually you will find your people. :)

But seriously, give me your @name in game, I can add you to a new player friendly guild. :D

    My Character name is Redprincejar

The places where people hang out not doing anything urgent are mainly the crafting towns, like Vivec City, Rawlk'ha, Mournhold or Shornhelm. Mainly Vivec City these days, I think.

Calling the entire game community anti-social because people don't respond in chat per your expectations is a bit nihilistic. Just respond to guild recruitment ads in chat. From there you will meet other people who can recommend other guilds. It's really not that hard to do.

I have recently left a guild due to "not nice" members. I was asking for assistance to do the preliminary Undaunted Quest on a new character who did not have the skills necessary to solo it.

Got in the Que for the Dungeon and asked LFG in zone chat, after 45 minutes of nothing. I asked in Guild chat

The guild members replies were immediate and horrible full of "Do not help this ******* he is to low a level, its a waste of time." " F***** if you cannot solo it, you should leave the game" "Hey, S******** you should quit playing if you cannot solo it."

I have been a member of this guild for a over a year. Have donated time, items, and gold to the betterment of the guild. done trials and undaunted pledges with guild members on other charterers with no issues, until this.

My point is that it is not just a few random players, it's a large amount of players that hide behind the anonymity of the game (and any internet game, forum, social media, etc... to just be jerks. Solution block them in chat, leave guilds if they are there. Just move on and play the game. It is supposed to be fun and these type of players just enjoy making it a horrible experience for others. So don't let them.

Just as a heads up, I would ignore this message too even though there are a few guilds I could invite someone to. I'll explain why, because it'll probably help you out - "looking for a guild" is not informative enough. There are many, many types of guilds, so "looking for a guild" doesn't tell us enough. The primary guilds I'm in these days are trading guilds. If someone doesn't say specifically "looking for trading guild" I won't even think about extending them an invite. Trading guilds come with additional expectations like weekly dues and making sales. Not everyone is into that, wants that, or can do that (especially new players).

What you probably want to do is instead put out "new player looking for social guild." That better conveys that you are probably looking for a dues-free guild, that you're interested in group activities, and that you're new to the game. There are guilds that make helping new players part of their mission. Keep in mind that some guilds limit who can recruit more than others. Sometimes, any member can extend invitations. Other guilds restrict invitation to select officers. It just depends on where you are, when you are, and who all else is in your instance. It's not necessarily going to be an instant thing.

That is horrible! Especially after being a member for a long time, and a contributor. Did you talk to the guild leadership about this?

In our guild, this would not fly at all. Each of those people would have been removed quite quickly.

You could always try that one inn in Riften...

FWIW, I am in 5 dif guilds and constantly being invited to join others after completing group content. If you find yourself having fun with a group, ask in group chat for a guild invite, or invite them to your own guild. Basically, just keep playing the game.

Trial guilds recruit through, get this, TRIALS. Most newer or smaller ones do recruitment runs, typically on weekends. Most of the older and larger ones don't, but you might fetch an invite on a random PUG if you do well, are friendly, are fun, etc.

I wonder, do you run with a mic? Because if you don't, its going to be very hard to get a guild invite.

I always help when I see players in necessity, like dying to a group of mobs, by healing and helping to kill. But then, they turn on their opportunist side and leave you behind dealing with the mobs while he/she goes ahead doing the quests without even listening to the npc, just smashing buttons.

I feel like Stibbons. Poor Stibbons. So many Laurents in this game.

ZOS egocentric design. it does nothing to promote community only individual performance. the started building a single player online RPG around late 2015 and 2016. when you can complete 95% of the content solo using light attacks it does nothing really to promote community ,friendships or alliances.

Don't worry about buying bag space or hoarding gold quite yet. At that level you should be questing and learning your character, not stressing about bag space. Deconstruct extra gear, or sell it to a merchant to make some easy change. If you gather unrefined materials and get a gold mat, that would easily net you some quick cash.

There are people advertising guilds in chat constantly, just be patient. Hang around in a populated zone for 10ish minutes and there will be at least one. Questing, random dungeons, and fighting world bosses is a good way to meet people.

Well the thing is i keep running out of space because i loot everything. I had to use at least 2000 crowns to increase it to 90

Using crowns for bag space was a bad idea. Just do your quests, sell every piece of gear you won't use, and start to do crafting writs for all of the professions. That should give you enough gold for a couple of upgrades. Oh, and train your horse every day for bag space. Right now mount speed is not that important to you.

Be specific about what you're looking for. Instead of

    "LF Guild"

and being disappointed at a lack of response try

"New player looking for a helpful guild to assist me with questions about the game and maybe some dungeons."

There is a huge amount of difference between the two

ESO is a single player game, due to very poor design choices (using a really bad homebrew engine instead of something like Unreal 4, all dungeons being public except Trials, more emphasis on cash shop than content etc) by the devs. There are things they could do to change that, but they won't or due to the poor performance can't.

Considering how many dungeons there are, it's interesting to think that "there's no reason to interact with others" could ever be valid. I mean, we certainly survive without any forms of communication... but that's a necessity often enough, not a preference.

I was soloing a dungeon the other day and ran into these two lowbies around level 20. I suppose I carried them through one of Morrowind's public dungeon because they were pausing before every mob until i showed up. Afterwards one of them sent me a friend invite (which I declined) and I thought later: they probably had a good time up until that point. It's a social game . We should all try to be a bit more social.

I joined this forum specifically to try to find a guild. It was two years after I started playing the game. I never got an invite from the forum members recruiting. Within a couple of weeks of joining the forum, I got my first guild invite from a random player in a public dungeon.

I am now a lifetime member in that guild and consider at least one hundred of the members to be friends. I don't use that word lightly. Irl I have maybe twenty people who I consider to be my friend.

Just keep playing. Be social when you find yourself in a crowd. The invites will come.

the long term community that cared left long ago , now its just the churning solist that populates. and they are asking for solo versions of all dungeons.
