I’ve been thinking this for a bit. Since I started playing and investing time in this and seeing the game ruined. Over the course of like four months. One wonders if there is going to be an insider sell off of private shares soon and they use this game tanking as the excuse for the drop in share value. Then they can buy what’s left back up at a fire sale price and rebrand it and do it again on a 5 or 10 year cycle.
Purely speculation in the spirit of trying to figure out what’s behind this stuff. Zenimax may be aware and that was the point of summer fall event to drive logins and sales to try to counter what the suits are doing at lower employee expense.1
