cap lives matter! sorry I hate caps but it works.
ZOS's stance on CP in PvP is that it all evens out, the stance on PvE is that high CP out scales content.
the solution is simple, remove, im sorry but you have to kill your baby for the good of the game.
that argument of it evens out in pvp (it doesn't, because %'s) means that by ZOS's own omission and defense, that CP is useless.
if someone has 20% damage reduction from damage over time, and someone else damage over time does 20% more damage, then they both act like they have no cp (kind of, %'s)
same for every other stat and tree.
if two CP cap players are set up in such a way, it is as if they both have 0 cp, because it "all evens out" thus its useless
CP matter more in PvE, because we scale and mobs and bosses don't, so it would be simply better to remove CP and scale it for all players then trying to figure out what players you scale content for. scale for max CP? now noobs get rekt, scale for no CP? vets breeze through content.
**CP also causes lag as its more checks the game has to make in combat**
back to PvP, if CP were removed it would be much better balanced, no need for multiple versions of pvp or battlegrounds, it could all be balanced the same way. anyone who plays BOTH CP and no CP pvp knows full well they are not the same, builds in one are not viable in another, skills in one work but not in the other, siege is death in one and tickles in another, etc.
if CP was gone, and stats were the same across the board, it would be infinitely more easy to balance the game and get it to the point the devs and players desire.
remove CP, move the cp bonuses back into armor and base stats for all players so that we are at the strength both we and the devs desire, and have a perfect benchmark to balance the game from. if you want to add in some more levels for armor or what not go for it, but get rid of CP.
