So the issue put to ZOS was the stacking of 3 shields...

ZOS come up with a terrible solution with cast times, that i argued against (will never regret that).

So ZOS then say they will cap shields to 40% of max health, not exactly perfect but better than the cast time.

So i log in to the PTS (already angry that my friend on MAC cannot join me for anything on there because ZOS have NOT fixed that) to find that it's capped to 40% per shield....


So you have screwed PvE'ers and literally done NOTHING to the shield stackers that you were meant to be hitting????

Now WTF is going on??? Please say that this is an error or you have missed this off due to lack of time.

    Were they really targetting shield stacking specifically? I was more under the impression that they wanted to bring the defenses of min/max magicka builds down a notch in general. Shield stacking was never intended to be targetted from my knowledge.

    Actually 40% shields makes shield stacking mandatory... :(

    I'm still thinking how on Nirn will I shield those pets with only 5,2k?

    You won't need to shield your pets now that they take 0 damage.

    ^ in PVE yes, in PVP no. I do BGs with pet sorc very well and it's fun.

    Yeah, infinite health pets in BG would likely be a bad idea. lol. I suppose this is a solution to the small shields problem in PvE. For PvP it may be their intention that targetted pets die faster than they do currently. Using them as a shield wall while pumping shields into them from behind seems like it may have been overperforming as a defenseive strategy in some situations, battlegrounds being a prime example, especially when you stack 4 pet sorcs on a team.

    All they had to do was not allow class shields to stack with armor ones:

    Buff specific class shields so they can be used as a shield (igneous shield) instead of solely as a way to get major mending underneath a shield.

    Then you break the 3 shield stack. As for whether or not they were hitting stacked shields or not, this was in 2 separate class rep notes as well as LOTS of threads on the forums that the stacking was the issue.

    They literally capitulated and gave sorcs back their "god mode" smh

    Crittable Shields in PVP would like a chat...And an unknown on how Battlespirit & Bastion are going to play with shields...

    I would check myself but some file Zos has in the PTS download is getting flagged supposedly by several ISP's and getting blocked if I am hearing this right from others on the forums....

    Shields are crittable, indeed they are but the base damage is now mitigated by your resistances before hitting the shields, which makes the more durable unless you run 6/7 light or no boundless.

    Until the harness/dampen is corrected we can't fully test just how much it will be affected in Cyrodiil but it's not hard to figure out that people will be able to push the 100%+ mark again with no issues.

    I could agree to that if the shield wasn't pathetically low now. With Empowered ward on 23k hp pet sorc in PVP I get roughly 4,7k shield in Vivec :( In Sotha Sil I will get even lower, in BGs too.
