Sorcs got a whole line called storm calling, no shock staves.
Dks have a whole line called ardent flame, no fire staves.
Wardens have a whole line called winter's embrace. No ice staves.
Templars have a whole line called restoring light. No restoration staves.
I'd like Spears and they probably won't happen if I'm realistic, but your argument needs a lot of work to convince me Aedric Spear is even remotely like having a physical spear.7 -

Northman✭✭Yeah i was dissapointed when we didn't get a proper Weaponskill line for Spears. Maybe one day. Aedric Spear isn't a weapon either, just as there are staves for every class tree of the same element, there is no reason to not bring in proper spear weapons just because Aedric Spear exist.Edited by Northman on October 1, 2018 5:40AM0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Not happening anytime soon, prob never. Besides being one of the rarest weapon line topics in the forums over the years, it would be such a horrid idea for Zos to add every weapon that someone has asked for. Such a bad balance idea and we would have such poor designs.

Spears have actually been in the game for a VERY long time (perhaps since release), you can usually see Fighters Guild NPCs train with them at certain basegame locations.(MC) Main DPS: Redz Kuinn - Lvl 50 - MagSorc - PvE
Main Healer: Soranna Anilu - Lvl 50 - Templar - PvE

I'd personally love to see two handed and one handed spears in the game. One handed spears could be used in the sword and board tree as a simple reskin of the already available one handed weapons, while two-handed (halberds?) could use the two-handed tree quite well.

✭They should have given us the spears long ago, afaik in TES: Skyrim they were bragging in some trailer about the spears but never implemented for unknown reason. In ESO I believe and the video just confirms, the spears would be too OP, thus they don't wish to add a powerful weapon which would have to be nerfed at the beginning. I also believe they treat the spears like the Dwemer race, nobody knows why the spears are no longer after original Morrowind game, yet all community requests meet the wall of silence. You could ask about the spears and it's like you were asking about why the Dwemer disappeared. PC EU (PL): 14 characters. ESO player since 06.08.2015. No, when I'm really nostalgic about Morrowind spears, I boot up TES III and play my spear-wielding Nerevarine.
See, I played Skyrim, then Oblivion, and then Morrowind, and I knew I wanted to use a spear in Morrowind and it was amazingly fun.
Seyda Neen is pretty in this game, but it doesn't compare to fending off flocks of cliff-racers with my trusty halberd.
(Yes, we know its a lot of work to add weapons and animations to the game. We're not likely to get spears added to ESO. Who cares? Spears are awesome and I'd like to see them return to TES games.)1 -

✭✭Morrowind had pole arms, and called them spears. There were no short spears (I added my own) and you certainly couldn't throw them.
So are you really asking for spears - i.e. a stick with a pointy end, of varying sizes, some of which can be thrown; or are you asking for pole arms, which is regular weapons (sharps and blunts) with a very long handle for extra leverage?0 -
