I thought to ask if the dev team is considering allowing the Xbox One to use the same UI as PC as a result of the developer having tools to offer mouse and keyboard support for the Xbox One?

At Xbox, we’re committed to bringing gamers more choice in what they play, who they play with and how they play. We’re also equally committed to providing developers with the best platform to create and deliver the best gaming experience on Xbox. Today we’re announcing a new way to play games on Xbox: we’re enabling mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One for select Xbox Insiders in the coming weeks.
With this new input support at the platform level, developers can now build mouse and keyboard support in their games if and how they choose. It’s important to note that mouse and keyboard support for games is added on a title-by-title basis, entirely at developers’ discretion. For all other titles, nothing changes. Mouse and keyboard input is not enabled by default for games. Each development team knows their titles best and we support them in creating the right experience for their games as they see fit, to ensure an optimal and fair gaming experience. Warframe will be one of the first titles testing mouse and keyboard input when the feature arrives to Insider in the coming weeks.

No because people cant transfer their items or progress over so it would make better logic as mentioned in my OP

I was just wondering this myself. One of my biggest pain points to playing ESO on Xbox right now is the UI. It is dreadful to navigate on a gamepad. If ZOS enabled mouse and keyboard support I would honestly probably still use the gamepad for combat, but I would use the mouse and keyboard to navigate the updated UI.

The whole argument that it would provide an "unfair playingfield" doesn't hold much ground because ESO on PC already gives players the choice to using a gamepad or mouse/keyboard (as well as having access to higher framerates if they invest in a gaming rig as opposed to just using their day-to-day laptop), so giving console players the same choice would allow players to have a similar experience across all platforms (other than lower graphics settings on consoles).

Sure, we could "just switch to PC" but not everyone has the money to invest in a gaming rig and not to mention the fact that we have spent hundreds of hours (and often money) on our Xbox accounts which cannot even be transferred, so that would be time and money wasted if we gave all of that up simply to switch to PC. Enabling mouse/keyboard with an updated UI for consoles would remedy multiple pain points for console players.

I think any “switching to PC” ideas are terrible in context to this. Not saying you’re suggesting that but just for discussion sake.

I started on PC and purchased the game on PC because I was told I’d be able to move to console.

Now ZOS has wrote, said and conveyed in many different ways and time periods that we on console can’t move to PC nor can PC move to console and keep their progress and purchased items.

I don’t feel this is a time to go back and provide such a method, it’s simply that the UI they have in the game code would be ideal if offered for Xbox one too similar to how it’s offered on PC
