Error 104 - Not enough space even though plenty of space is available

When trying to install the game client on a retina Macbook Pro, I get "Error 104 - Not enough space: Please clear up 60GB on your hard drive and try again", even though I have 85GB free on the only hard drive.
I searched the forum and tried all previously mentioned solutions (including running time machine and restarting launcher as well as some strange terminal entries), but nothing is working. This is extremely frustrating.

have you already tried to switch off the local TimeMachine backup feature, as I have described in this thread?

Loxy37✭✭✭✭Also (I'm no expert on MACs) but on PC there can sometime be issues with the file system of the disc that can cause issues like that where the wrong amount of free space is being displayed and a simple fixdisk will usually remedy it. Its worth a shot.0 -

BTW you need 60GB + around 15% to allow for overheads etc. Being close to the 60GB, even say 70GB could cause issues.0
