I imagine the server distance will be a problem too.

Is it done on a console? Because as I see more and more videos, it looks like console DPS shows an average 4k better DPS than PC. I don't know if it's due to controllers being better than using a keyboard, if it's the DPS counter per se, or if it's the latency, but something does not compute.

Mage's Fury is quite useless. Execute phases are short, and Fury doesn't deal enough damage or can be used too late for it to make a big impact on dps. You're typically better off slotting something else and hoping for good Implosion procs.
You can use Clench as a pseudo execute. When boss is low enough and if you have a ton of magicka left, instead of the heavy attack you can use Clench twice. But it's unlikely you'll have enough magicka left and the dps gain is really small, so it rarely pays off.

I ran this exact rotation with a sub-optimal setup (I'll include the picture) and parsed 35k, which was 3k higher than the same set up with my old rotation (LL > la > blockade > swap > la > prey > la > familiar > heavy > swap&repeat). I'm at a similar place as @glennsfono but I'm pretty sure it's because I still need to make a few build tweaks.

Note: the vMA inferno staff is because I've run vMA over 100 times and still don't have a lightning staff........

1. Are you swapping your shield out for elemental drain? or are you having someone else apply it for you? That would make a difference. (The rotation would be [liquid lightning > la > blockade > la > drain > swap] every other rotation)
2. Also, try switching to the lover and re-trait a couple big pieces to infused, that should keep you at about 50k magicka and give you more pen.

I'm just curious to see how much of a difference doing this would make. even if you can't afford to retrait the pieces yet.

If you wanna reach endgame you gotta play endgame setups. And petsorc isnt meta since HotR patch lmao...
Petless light attack sorc is the way to go right now afaik. But if you dont wanna play sorc without pet because it doesnt have a class identity just do what everyone else does, use the broken class until it gets nerfed.

TL;DR: either petless sorc or reroll magblade you wont get far with petsorc

2. I'll give that a go. Previously Lover has dropped my DPS but that was a few patches ago.

I tried that but I could not do more than 36k, so I switched back to my usual dual pet which grants 40-42k.

@codestripper PC-NA here. I just built a pet sorc for vMA farms and solo play. I am also using IA jewelry and front bar lighting (all gold) and Necro body (purple divines/infused big). Lover Mundus. I have Zaan but don’t use it since I’m not to worried about parsing or high DPS at this time so I’m using skoria.

My question: how did you get 50k Max Magicka? I’m sitting in the 42 range on blue food.

My skills: blockade, liquid lightning, volatile familiar, hardened ward, inner light, Destro Ult.

This is primarily a one bar heavy attack build. I only switch bars to cast daedric pray. So far it’s been very effective, but more magicka would be preferred.

The way my skills are set up I have 44k on the back bar and 50k on the front bar. On the front bar I have bound aegis and inner light. That would be the bar you want to spend most of your time on since it has the highest magicka. I don't run 1 bar builds, but make sure you are wearing 1 medium and 1 heavy for the undaunted bonus.

That definitely looks like Lover in your combat metrics parse btw under "Buffs-In", but that's awesome. I'm happy you finally broke 40k! Congrats!
