Murkmire : Will this update increase or decrease PvP Presence/Population?

    I guess it will be more or less unchanged.
    weaklings that cannot adapt will leave, some more ppl will start to pvp.
    those who adapt will stay true to their class or roll nw one that is FOTM.

    I have AvA rank 32, emperor and all the achievements/motifs from Battegrounds that I was after.

    Once Murk goes live, you can bet I'm going to stay the heck away from all kinds of PvP, no way I'm taking my light armor DK in there at all.
    I'll just go back to decorating some houses until we get a better patch.

    Decided not to re-sub because of where the game is going and this patch is it for me. Mirkmire is everything that is wrong with ZOS' way of reacting to feedbacks that stated better alternatives or exact opposite. Power Lash and shield cast time are examples. No matter how Rob Garret tried to justify the change, I really do not see how this will go well with magicka players.

    Well to all sorc here few patches ago i had a build that was op and i loved it it was my specific build with lightning staff and that allowed me to proc power lash few times in a row, it got changed got a cooldown and rekt my build i had to make completely different build.. so what did i go on forums cry that my class its unplayable and i will quit? my class was weak for quite long and i dealt with it ur turn.

    UNless zos removes the cast time on the sorc and light armour wards, they will become basically unplayable/useless [read "too squishy to survive the cast time"] thus less people will play em, thus less...well, people.

    PvP demographic shouldn't be at its best anyways, since dragonbone dlc. Unfortunately, devs clearly show their priorities by never fixing an already problematic aspect of the game the problems of which are just piling on, as every dlc is being released. The recent changes are just another nail on the coffin.

    With every patch they somehow manage to make the game worse than it was before. it would be different if these kinds of poor balancing decisions where a rarity but no, it's the norm and it's getting tiresome.

    I'm gone from PvP in Murkmire. Too many dumb changes over time, lag, the fact that swift and the targeting bug is being ignored (changes will really push people towards swift), the fact that heavy armor builds exist with lots of healing + damage + sustain + shielding in Murkmire, the fact that light armor will be trash in Murkmire at this rate, the fact that skills exist with "i-frames" -- see cloak and invis potion, skills that self-snare constantly bugging and perma-snaring you, things like race conditions causing people to respawn at their alliance gate with scroll when killed at the right time "accessing" scroll (...really?),

    etc. the list goes on on what ZOS doesn't address that's obviously a problem, and balance is always a joke. If the game designers focused more on actual balancing instead of stupid and misleading rhetoric, I would reconsider. Since they aren't I'm not.

    Thing is tho. it's not just one thing that makes Mirkmire bad, as i said in another thread, i have not seen a single change that i like in Mirkmire it's a continuation of a balancing direction that has been driving people away from ESO for a while now. don't look at it as people mad because of a single patch or change.

    Amazing teach us master. Tell us what sorcs need to use now to survive in PvP? Hmmm? Give me exact skills. Difference between PvE DD setup and PvP setup is that you have multiple ways of build decent DD in PvE, while in PvP mostly sorcs but in general LA builds run with shields not because they love shields but because it's their only way to mitigate some some damage before being hit with 10k nukes and vaporise in 1s.

    LA users except of templars and wardens have no burst heals, usually have around 10k resistances, can't block or roll dodge almost at all to save stamina for breaking free, have lower mobility (no snare and root immunity like stamina). Shields was the only thing that kept them alive, now with delay they are screwed. You say that dots and heals were to strong. So vigor + roll dodge or block are less potent? Why stamina can still combine easy defensive mechanics while magicka gets screwed all the way left with nothing?

    So in the name of justice we need to screw someone else each patch? Can't we buff underperforming mechanics, to get everyone more or less in line?
    I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    Came back after a break to grab the 100k daily reward and check out the multicore support story and overall Cyro performance promises. Also hoped for some IC improvements during the event. Although I main a sorc, the nerfs are not a deal breaker for me.

    But nothing changed. We're getting another crappy boring pve oneshot questing microarea with the greatest improvement being the PLANTS THAT HIDE WHEN YOU APPROACH THEM WOW!
    All I have left are very high expectations regarding the gates/bridges offloading the lagzergs, but it's very likely that I will be terminally disappointed.

    It will decrease but PvP in ESO will decrease anyway. There is little loyalty to the Elder Scrolls franchise among PvPeeps as opposed to those who have played the stand alone games from Daggerfall on. The old Scrollers will stay as long as they have their game and story content. The PvPeeps will be chasing the next bright & shiny object whether that be 76 or something completely different.

    I think the pvp population will take a bit of a dip at first that will slightly come back over time, never quite reaching where it was prior to the update.

    They're going to screw up something and kill performance when this is implemented, just like every other update we get, which will drive players away for a bit, including a few that won't come back. On top of that, they're making some pretty drastic changes to a popular class without giving any sort of trade-off to help adjust builds, so they'll probably lose a few players there, too.

    Most will stay, but there are going to be a decent number that quit PVP and/or the game altogether.

    Funny because I don't even play sorc at all. Not even in PvE. As if you'd need to be a sorc main to realize the madness in the shield changes.

    Ok, Let's put a cast time on reactionary defensives like dodge roll and block- then tell stamina builds the same thing.

    Can't tell if you're trolling, only play stamina, aren't a pvper, or play in such large groups that youd have the luxury of not being affected by a change like this.

    I can only speak for myself, but my overall enjoyment with ESO is on the decline. I don't take my MagSorc to pvp, but if they overly nerf the one character I truly enjoy playing in PVE end game content, with my sub already in question, I can't see things getting any better. Too bad. ESO is truly remarkable in many ways, but I have a diminishing interest in financially supporting where ZOS is taking it.

    Here's what I see coming next patch.
    Long time Sorcs getting tired of trying to use Ward in Light Armor and quit or reroll Stamina
    Goat Paths being completely covered head to toe with Gankers using Solider of Anguish, leading to more people just fixing choke points to avoid that cancer or quitting.

    The return of Blazing Shield Templar as well as an increase in Permablocker builds that are even more tanky due to shield changes. This will result in PvPers complaining about Permablockers ruining PvP, while Permablockers will complain about Solider of Anguish ruining their builds, ironically because zerg tanks will most likely utilize SoA too.

    I think I'll avoid all that drama this patch. I'll be too busy making a Shrine in my Xanmeer Temple for my NB Tank and Healer, to mourn their loss.

    Well, I can say that for me my time playing this game has changed from basically "all day every day" to "only long enough to log in, do a few dailies and log out".

    Why? I've been in this game for about 3.5 years and have seen some interesting and some horrible changes in this game. There comes a point where the changes are just a bit too much for some (i.e. Me) and my interest in the game has waned considerably because of all these changes.

    It is impossible to balance this game in PVP with all the gear sets we have, all the CP, all the different races, all the different classes. It is impossible. Can't do it now, never will be able to. If ZOS forced all PVP players into using a "One build fits all" template then everyone would be balanced of course but where is the fun in something like that? It would be terrible.

    Now that Mag Sorcs have a shield of around 6K in PVP that is critable who intends to run it like that? IDK. So the "Mag Sorc" build has to be changed considerably to be viable in PVP and somewhat in PVE.

    What class to nerf next? Just wait for Murkmire to go Live and within a day, maybe less, this Forum will have new "Nerf this class!" threads. And the struggle to find balance continues.....
