Seriously, they won't put out an event behind an extremely expensive DLC paywall and have everyone "punished" in the end for not having hit their (secret) goal.
So don't worry, they'll announce the 100% in like two days from the end of the event...

That would be not very good, if ZOS made it obvious they've tampered with progress percentage (of course they can tamper with it in many not so obvious ways). It will discourage those who actually did participate in the event.
I would prefer not to receive the main prize, if we were not able to do it, than be given rewards no matter what outcome actually was
I don't like the idea of supporting "this event ends in 100% no matter what" mentality for the sake of future events.

Suggestion:
Extend a Discount Proportionate to the Summerfall Completion
Example of Original Price: 21,000 Crowns
Summerfall Completion 47% (11,100 Crowns)
- Summerfall Completion 82% (3400 Crowns)
- ETC
Alternatively, this could be offered for gold as well, with say, an Original Price of 8,000,000 gold.
This may make the event seem more enjoyable and have landmark goals. Just a thought.
I think they should be much more harsh: if we don't meet the goal, we don't get the house. Ever.
We cant influence 75% of the goal; as there are 4 mega servers. Of that 25% in our realm, most of us speak only 1 language. Its not a great execution on an event.

They need to show something tangible. Anything.

It's your problem that you didn't enjoy this event properly. This one traveled far and wide. This one stood where the sun stands and sat where the sun sets, and held his jaw where the Sun holds, and spent some time lying on the mat where snotty elves lie to each other. This one stole accidentaly some stuff he even didn't see and had to run from the guards. This one played a lute at some spots (truly this one hoped to spot Santie Claws at some point and maybe accidentaly serenade this elusive khajiit but well... )

There are 6 megaservers (PC, Xbox, PS4, EU and NA for all). If you play on 1 platform, you can still contribute on 2 megaservers, since getting the achievement on both EU and NA count as 2 accounts for this event.

And the 1200 people that may do this... are not even a drop in the bucket. Its a design flaw.

Why? if the goal isn't met, then it's not met.

So in your world, when you don't complete a task, you get rewarded for failing?

I wouldn't take on a task without knowing the intimate details. Also, I do not fail.

Well obviously in your world failure is rewarded. See, in the real world, when you don't accomplish something, or don't complete a task, you aren't rewarded or paid, but according to you if the player base does not complete the task, or does not succeed, you expect them to be given some kind of reward.
And everybody fails. If you haven't failed, then you haven't tried.

Are you describing a corporate job? Is that what they do? Cute. I wouldn't know, I started heavily investing in cyrptocurrency in 2009 and never looked back. If you're a motivational speaker, let me know, Ill book the room and take some lessons from you; I would love to know more about this real world.
I suggested this thread to alleviate the failings of the event.

I'm describing any kind of situation where there is a reward involved. And congratulations on cryptocurrency investment. What's it's like to invest heavily into something that is continually decreasing in value?
And you still aren't addressing the fact that you want a participation trophy. A feel good medal for showing up.
That's not how it works.

I started on cyrptocurrency, my seed money moved to Amazon in 2017; but thanks.
As for the event, I dont want anything, and if you read my OP, I stated the house will likely be given as it will generate micro crown sales on furniture. A lot of players do not own a single Noble home, this was suggested for them.

This comment is dangerously close to crossing the line into an entitlement thread.
ZOS is graciously giving us stuff for free.
Somebody doesn't comprehend the value of TIME! When everyone mentions entitlement it's always about us wanting "Free" stuff. Have you ever stopped to consider the TIME people invest in this game. Have you stopped to consider the time ZOS is asking us to spend on this event, or any other event for that matter. These "Freebies" aren't "FREE" they're being earned by time spent doing what the game designers want us to do. Puts a whole different perspective on this "Entitlement" BS that people keep tossing around like it's a bad thing. If I work for something, I earned it. I AM ENTITLED TO IT. Period. It's called capitalism!
