Should Sorcerer Pets be the source of their defense?

Should sorcs have a tanking pet that attacks can be deflected towards (by toggling its ability) until the pet is killed as a defense to compensate for the 1 second casting times being implemented for shields?

✭✭NoThis does nothing for other magicka classes that also depend on shields for survival. Just remove the cast time.1 -

I can't see how this would work out, even for a pet sorc that uses 2 pets actively. One pet we use for healing (even more so now that shield uptime is awful), and the other we use for damage. Would you have us get rid of our damage or our only source of a burst heal?Since everyone seems to be doing this,

✭✭✭Noi have 4 sorcs..... I hate pets on ALL of them...... so no.... an annoying barely functioning easily killed pet that you cant even use in some trials that has a cast time already should probably not be magsorcs main source of defense0
