I think for many it's the lack of anything remotely interesting. People hear the word "event" and automatically assume it's gonna be yet another regurgitated repetitive grind of a previous one. I now get they're attempting something different, but this game has been oversaturated with events that are exactly the same as the ones we get every year. A lot of people just ignore them now. I know i do. I got the event advert pop up and didn't even bother reading it until yesterday as I initially assumed it was yet another dull af grind fest that i did last year so i did what i do during every event now, take a break from the game. Because we've had numerous events, one after the other recently, I haven't touched the game for weeks now.

Less events and more fixes would be my preference. That i would log on for. But the latter never happens in any meaningful way.

You do realize the majority of the populations do not read the forums or the websites.. So they might not even bother because they don't know and a great number may not even care.

There is also an advert on the login screen, which many have shut off

So far I've seen this event advertised on:
    • The main ESO site
    • Facebook
    • Twitter
    • Email
    • Login screen
    • On this forum
    • In zone chat (both in Summerset and in other maps)
    • In guild chat
    • In 2 guild daily messages

I suppose it is possible that people play ESO but don't read any of the official sources of information from ZOS, keep zone chat off at all times and aren't in a guild or are only in guilds that haven't mentioned it. But by that point I think we're down to a much smaller percentage of people.

I think you are gravely underestimating that percentage. In most normal cases I nor anyone I play with has any reason to look at Facebook, Twitter, forums etc. We all close the in game pop ups without reading. Itll sound bad and I dont intend it to but I dont care about the "community"... I really only play this as a single player game (other people just happen to sell me stuff sometimes) aside from some irl friends. I've missed several of the log in get crates events because I dont know about them. This isnt any different. I only found out cause a new friends showed interest in summerset so I was looking to see a price, saw the sale, wondered why... and here we are. This game while fun is a drone game. It takes no effort or mindset to play. So I think you should be very very prepared to not even hit 80% on this thing.

Now all that being said I already had the achievement on NA and last night I ran through EU for giggles and got it there. I'm buying that house either way so it's just am I buying extra furniture or not at this point.

Sadly, a lot of people are too peeved about upcoming changes to care about this.

Also, a lot of people that DO care have no bloody idea it's happening :(

Splash screen gets insta-clicked off ~
no one reads the fine print on the launcher ~
most of the community don't come to the forums etc, etc, etc.

Every time I do a PSA in zone chat, far too many are totally oblivious to this event.

Could use everyone who's already done it to do a quick zone by zone PSA when log in, might help, otherwise not looking good.

This is the downside of that login splash screen being up all the time. It gets ignored.

Well, this event requires you to log in, explore every POI in Summerset, port to Artaeum and get the only POI there, and you are done, you got your achievement. Okay, after that you should log in to the other megaserver of your platform, start a new character (if you still don't have one), and at lvl3 do it again; many friendly people would help you with a port to Artaeum. This is not a grind, just some running (and a tutorial for the 2nd megaserver), and you can finish it pretty fast.

Even if you don't care about mounts, pets or houses, at least you can help to the other members of the community.

Yeah, the only two of those that I'd have a chance of seeing are the Login Screen and the Forum. I keep chat closed, I don't do 'social media', my only ESO web link is directly to the forum, no guild.... /shrug

(I've been logging in every day to, at least, train riding on an alt and do the daily login. I still missed the first day of Free Crown Crate because I didn't know about it til I read the forum the next day.)

edit: on the other hand, I've had Summerset Pathfinder done for months, and am utterly surprised that 90% of Summerset owners didn't already have it. So, we all have our particular assumptions. ;)

edit2: and it'll be interesting to see if ZoS's assumptions about how many players would be motivated to do this event ("we designed it for it to be completed!") are correct. :# It might also help them learn just how many of those "active accounts" out there are actually players. hah.

Does a chapter carry over from one server to another? What I mean I mean is if I I've only ever played pc na do I have the Summerset chapter on EU? Because I'm definitely not buying it twice. If it does automatically carry over I'll do it later today.

I don't see how we're gonna get to 100% but I got summerset recently so will stop being lazy and go to the locations soon on both servers.

I'm not even that interested in getting the villa, would probably walk around in it for a bit then go off and do my usual stuff. My chars have ample domicile in Shadowfen and they're fine with that really, they're more the small building hermit type. I'd feel bad though if we got really close when it'd finished and were left wondering if we could've done it with more help, so will do it shortly.

Oh ok cool. Do you know if my lack of having any existing characters is affecting the overall stats in any way. Did zos indicate that in this specific instance it affects the overall percentage negatively.

Im not doing it on the EU server. We're going to get the house. It would be extremely surprising if they didn't considering ZoS has put focus on cosmetics which now seem to be the main focus, and they want people to spend $ decorating their houses. This event just isn't my thing.

It looks pretty good at 63% today. We may make it. If it starts to look desperate in the final two days I’ll go through the rigamarole of sending my EU toon though Summerset and then panhandle my way to Artaeum.

That's a good point. I haven't bothered with several previous events, like the Orsinium and Imperial City anniversary events because it basically just means grinding the same rewards which are in the game normally with a slightly higher reward rate and that doesn't interest me. I still read the announcements just in case there's more to it (because occasionally it's something different - like this) but I can imagine some people losing interest completely in ESO's events.
