There isnt a rotation, maybe a burst but not a rotation, it's about being reactive.

Recovery is a lot more important in PvP, yes even Stamina recovery since you'll need to run/roll/break free a LOT more.

Personally I run Shackle & either Lich or Spinners. This is to give me max Mag & Stam, Mag & Stam recovery and then either more mag recovery if I'm fighting out numbered, or more damage/penetration. EDIT: I also run 1pc Ilambris, 1pc Domihaus.

You want:

• Defence - BOTH wards, the Sorc one & the Resto one. Some even take the light armour one too!
• Offence - Spammable in Force Pulse (or Crushing shock), Frag, Curse, Fury.
• Stuns - Use either Reach (destro) or Cage (Sorc). Can also use Streak as both a stun & a get away.
• Heal - Surge & Storm are nice to pair, or Exchange if you can LoS while you use it.
• Buffs/Debuffs - You can run Inner Light/Aegis/Ele drain/Storm in the other slots.

Side note: You will also want to run about 2k crit resist since your shields wont be up 100% of the time.

Active defense. Why I highly recommend a front barred shield. A single snipe can ruin your whole day.

Burst damage. Curse + Wrath + Ultimate + Frag/pulse/Ele weapon/d reach is your typical combo to kill

I only recommend AoE abilities if you have lots of PvP experience and the situation calls for it

Mobility. You want to be able to LoS and escape when needed. I always use a form of major expedition (boundless or pots) coupled with streak.

You must have a CC. It's how you break offensive onslaughts or finish an opponent or help an ally.

Stamina is a very necessary resource in PvP, with resource poisons break free can cost as much as 7.25k stamina

I would list my mag sorc build but that's gonna throw you off

If you aren't using Rune prison, put defensive rune on your overload bar - along with any long lasting buffs you don't want on your main bars.

Starting out, defensive rune bought me enough breathing room to develop good reaction strategies to burst damage. I've since dropped prison for defensive rune again and gone back to masters staff with reach for CC.

Imo Im kinda glad sorcerer (mag) is becoming less popular, I plan on using mine more.

Mag sorc is one of these classes that used to be great at killing bad players yet sucks when anyone you fight has a brain.

Now with the fact it's not got a decent cc again it's only mediocre at killing bad players and you basically can't burst anything in heavy, any dk's, any warden or any magplars because they all combat you're very predictable and obvious burst combo too easily.

I'm not sure fi you play solo/ duo/ small group or zerg. But if solo/ duo/ small group then play anything stam as you normally need the mobility. A mag dk can be fine but it suffers mobility and can easily be caught out by lots of people in which case it dies pretty fast, magplar can also be good but suffers the same problem.

If in a zerg then play whatever class on whatever build as your skill, build etc.. doesn't matter as the zerg will cover your healing, revive you instantly and help you 2k skill dmg with 15+ of their own to cover your dmg. I'd suggest a mag templar as the most brain dead easy mode but super effective in zergs class. All you gotta do is sit there on a tank build and heal the entire zerg while being cross healed by 8 other magplars to become unkillable.



But if you're going to stick with mag sorc here is what i'd run:

2x shadowrend
5x necro
3x lich jewellery + lich infused resto with berserker enchant
Willpower inferno nirn with shock enchant.

Inferno bar: Crushing shock, curse, frag, fury, rune cage. Ult Ice comet/ dawnbreaker of smiting.
Resto bar: Harness, hardened, healing ward, power surge, streak Ult: Overload

Overload bar: Hardened, dark deal, boundless storm, Mines, Streak.


With this you will have 50k magicka which you need because shields get absolutely melted in pvp. If you ever come across 2 players who aren't brain dead zergers then you will die, thats just mag sorc now.

Basic rotation is curse, crushing shock, rune prison, frag if proc'd if not crushing into fury. Swap the first crushing shock with frag into prison if frag proc's off curse.

Meteor combo.
Curse, ice comet which causes them to block which lets you rune cage them, frag if proc'd if not crushing shock, fury.

Dawnbreaker
Curse, DB, frag if not crushing, fury.

But like i said these combo's are so easily countered and even if you get them off if someone is in heavy and has like 24k hp you won't get close to burst them and they'll just heal to full.

Some people go master inferno and use flame clench as a cc yet that means your cc become reflectable and if someone blocks you literally cannot do anything.


My advice is to pick another class or go stam sorc.

I've seen flawless conqeuerors in PvP whom if it weren't for the title you may assume are unable to tie their own shoes

The two don't translate

With that being said, you can learn both and be good in both. But they are totally different playstyles

Make another character, stamblade or stamden is the strongest. Mag Sorc is not good right now. Shields getting nerfed in the next update.

Wow ...mag sorc haters everywhere! Ppl will say it's easy PVP but honestly if you can't keep Shields up you're dead... The challenge is to keep Shields up and keep pressure on opponent I've been using master lightning staff I like the stun better than master inferno knock back. Not a fan of rune cage. If you don't have a stun and a fat Stam pool you'll have a horrible time in pvp. As for CP invest points into bastion, I have 66, because Shields down ya dead. Good luck out there.
