It IS disgusting, awful, and uncomfortable (based on the gif posted below, I havent' actually spun up PTS), but it does look like it's one second. One second is just a long time in ESO combat to be stuck in an animation.

It's not gonna be as bad as it sounds, geez. Sorcs thought the world died when shields' duration was reduced to 6s. Sorcs thought the world died when Rune Cage was made dodge-able. Did it? No.
Now you just can't stand in the middle of a field shield-stacking like a baws, now you actually gotta use your (hopefully) existing brain and LoS / Kite.
Just like everyone went mad when they have seen on PTS how broken rune cage was, then it went live and sorcs were everywhere killing almost everyone except of the most tankiest builds? Yeah let it go live. You think now "awesome I'm going to take my revenge on those sorcs now", no you won't, because you won't meet any MagSorcs there, you won't meet any other LA users (maybe except of magblades), all you will see now will be "Blocked/Dodged".
I've been here when things like that happened before, when game performance was so bad that meteor rain was a completely legit thing. When they have changed lightning in Cyrodiil and you know what? This was one of the toughest times for the game, when some of the best players and even whole guilds was leaving the game, if you want this then please be my guest, but better get ready for more threads like "Is this game dying?".

That's lighting patch was the absolute low of ZOS broke PVP for 2 weeks @ 2 fps regardless of your rig. No free week or compensation gg @zos this will be your #2.1 -

I play magplar and i beat most sorcs, the top sorcs i ocasionally loose but mostly it ends Up a draw. Shieldstacking is just stupid, glad to see it nerfed. IF you know how to play a sorc u should only die when u get overrun by a zerg, but even that is easy avoidable IF u are aware and skilled, just pop shields and streak. Glad that easymode sorcs got nerfed, its totally needed0 -

Did you try on PTS? Because I tried animation cancel on conjured ward and harness magicka - not work.
PTS is the only place that matters ATM. Yes, the animation can be canceled but you have to waiting that full second or you cancel the shield.
Basically, it will only be effective for the best players. Everyone else will get a longer cast time.1 -
killimandrosb16_ESO✭✭✭✭✭Tested it on my magsorc on pts. Its basically useless i a pvp situation as it is. Just to the poster above me, I also main a magplar. Imagine your heals all had a 1 sec delay and were bashable. Yes, thats how it is. Without shields magsorcs arent a usable class in pvp anymore, unfortunately. The shields define the class, is part of its unique class skills and is the only viable defensive option. Its a no-go. Has nothing to do with how fkin pro you are, pros will probably still be able to do ok without shields, maybe. Still havent heard a single player with semi knowledge of sorcs thinking this is anything than a crazy idea. Listen to your class reps Zenimax. Go another path.5

Hardened Ward appears to be at least 1.5 seconds, more likely from 1.8 to 2 seconds.

How does it work amazingly? Its ok to get feedback, but specify a bit. Do you mean you dont have any problems with the cast time? In so, in which situations did you test it? On a target dummy? In trials? In pvp/bg's? Im curious.
Which new sets is perfect to fit with channeled sheilds? This one too I would really like to know, I have to test your theories on my magplar and on my magsorc.

Like if you are aware youre unskilled you purge-heal-mistform like a sorc streak?
1 mistake, and EZ mode sorc is instantly dead. How many mistakes your HARDMODE magplar can do before die? Yes forgeting to press BoL or HtD can make u die. Hardstuff.
1v1 sorc DPS rotation vs YOU: Curse,reach,Frag,execute. Will need to be done like 500 times since you purge everything. If they are not 100% aligned together and the burst start when YOU will be at around 80% HP you will never die.
1v1 defensive rotation of sorc vs YOU, 6 seconds shields. Cast both from a few meters away because if youre close enough you will burst BOTH of the shields before the burst is even being made.
Now your dps rotation is like? Vampires bane+Purifying light+jabs+mostersetProc 3 skills+1proc, no timing no nothing just ooga booga jab+heal while you dps.
Your surving rotation is Purge BoL-HtD. So how hardmode you are standing on your HoT's and runes like a tank?
Your comment are the typical player that got hurt inside cyrodiil, like that other guy on top of this post that stalks me in forums because he has a sort of obsession with me.
Now to be even MORE hard mode....Go stamplar, its a class that really makes me suffer 5 -

A skilled magsorc can die if you have equal skill as him.
Now if youre the typical forum whinebaby that refuses to L2P, no you cant kill him.
Learn to play, cry less and your non L2P nerf whining soon will go against you by others, as people realized that this is the way to go on ESO.

I play magplar and i beat most sorcs, the top sorcs i ocasionally loose but mostly it ends Up a draw. Shieldstacking is just stupid, glad to see it nerfed. IF you know how to play a sorc u should only die when u get overrun by a zerg, but even that is easy avoidable IF u are aware and skilled, just pop shields and streak. Glad that easymode sorcs got nerfed, its totally needed

1 mistake, and EZ mode sorc is instantly dead. How many mistakes your HARDMODE magplar can do before die? Yes forgeting to press BoL or HtD can make u die. Hardstuff.
1v1 sorc DPS rotation vs YOU: Curse,reach,Frag,execute. Will need to be done like 500 times since you purge everything. If they are not 100% aligned together and the burst start when YOU will be at around 80% HP you will never die.
1v1 defensive rotation of sorc vs YOU, 6 seconds shields. Cast both from a few meters away because if youre close enough you will burst BOTH of the shields before the burst is even being made.
Now your dps rotation is like? Vampires bane+Purifying light+jabs+mostersetProc 3 skills+1proc, no timing no nothing just ooga booga jab+heal while you dps.
Your surving rotation is Purge BoL-HtD. So how hardmode you are standing on your HoT's and runes like a tank?
Your comment are the typical player that got hurt inside cyrodiil, like that other guy on top of this post that stalks me in forums because he has a sort of obsession with me.
Now to be even MORE hard mode....Go stamplar, its a class that really makes me suffer

No, u cant kill a top magsorc, i understand why u cant see that since u clearly havent reached that lvl of skill, i guess u have to leave the Path of the zerg to find thoose encounters.0 -

If you play PC EU, i will suggest you to duel one of my enemy, not friend Magica nightblade as a magsorc.
A good nightblade is always superior, stamina maybe not. Magica 100% yes

If this makes it through to live I'm unsubbing for sure and probably stop playing all together. My main has been a sorc since the pre-release. Shields have been an essential part of every build I've played all these years.
ZoS don't destroy a whole class with some bs excuse about pacing and little reduction to damage output as I've seen someone quote. It was fine as it is. If shields are such a problem nerf shield stacking.4 -

I remember my old Necromancer in DAoC. The Necro had a Pet form that did all their combat actions for them while the player was a shade and had 1 hp should the pet die... The Pet form would take 100% Crit Damage from all enemy player spells in PVP (RVR). TRADEOF; It was the best PVE solo Chain Farmer in the game, hands down.
Where is the tradeoff? Sorcs are just to be mediocre? Why play one over a NB, I and many others are asking for the DPS role as thats our specialty? I could see being a super glass cannon if our DPS was just the best. But that's not the case. They think being able to be interrupted was the reason why "CAST TIME" made shield users vulnerable for "TO LONG" not the fact they added a "CAST TIME" to force shield user to be vulnerable longer. Like who the hell is coming up with these changes and the reasoning. Still will not renew my subscription until the cast time is removed this is still not acceptable. There are better ways to nerf shield stacking that would not destroy a class. They have been provided throughout this forum and other threads but are ignored without any feed back from the developers to show they are actually listening to our concerns and ideas to better the game. For a game who needs their subscriber base and their plays they sure show a lack of caring for their player base with these type of changes.Daedric Summoning

Because combat pace is so quick, allowing this ability to be interrupted meant that Light Armor players would be vulnerable for too long. Keeping the cast time, but now allowing it to be interrupted allows enemies a short window of time to get in burst damage and kill a damage shield user. We’ll continue to monitor feedback closely for this ability throughout this PTS cycle.1 -
