Here is how you keep the damage shield changes for Sorc-Devs please consider

With the new sets coming out, magblades and mag sorcs are going to be rocking dps wise. The problem is going to be defense for mag sorcs in pvp.

I have always thought the streak changes would be reversed at some point. Keep them in place and give us 1 second casting times on shields. However, have streak turn you invisible (and remove snares) for 3-5 seconds (however long NB cloak lasts). It will give time to cast shields when a ganker pops on you. In PVP at least, I think this would be a good way to provide mag sorcs with defense still without backing out of the damage shield changes that are being implemented. I agree with the crits and resists scaling. It should have always been that way. However, you should also allow shields to crit (maybe on the last part).

    I don't want my magsorc to be a Nightblade. That's basically what this change is calling for, Invisibility (cloak) is a class defining skill that is already heavily overused.

    It is comparable defense to what is being taken away. I understand their argument for wanting to change damage shields, but defense needs to be given to sorcs to compensate. Invis is comparable and would fit the motif of a lightning mage that streaks into invis etc. Make sure it still scales so it isnt abused like before the nerfs.

    If not, remove cast times and leave crit/resist scaling.

    It’s not comparable defense to what’s being taken away even if looked at through the narrow means your using. In PvE the idea is fail because the Sorc would bolt away from heals. The NB just sits there and dies.

    Make the shield a channel style cast instead of a true cast-time style cast giving the benefits of the mitigation up front while still forcing the "strategic decision." Basically start the shield at the beginning of the cast instead of the end. It would still cause a DD to use them judiciously by costing 1s of damage to apply the shield while allowing lower level players the ability to mitigate unforeseen damage.

    If the reasoning is truly to force a decision to give up some DPS to sustain, then this would accomplish that without leaving a player defenseless.
