Journals: I want to tell my story!

Housing already has literature that you can display and read...but what if you could write your own book for others to look through? I would love to be able to create my own book/document/note that any visitors to my house could read. This would open up opportunities to:

--Tell a story about my house or establishment and its purpose. Is it where the High Inquisitor Vanos Vox lives, or is it a hunting lodge where your rough and tumble traveler can rent a room for the night? An alchemy shop maybe?

--Describe the owners of the house (my characters) and maybe give a back story for them.

--Mention things to look out for such as crafting stations, target dummies, puzzles and mazes, or hidden gems.

Any dungeon or delve that I've visited has always had a story to it, whether it be journal pages scattered around or books from long extinct inhabitants, and that is what made those places memorable. I think homeowners put a lot of backstory into their homes that aren't obvious to most visitors. I would love to be able to create my own stories and also learn more about what others have created. I've suggested character description menus in the past but I think this would be an even better, more creative way to implement that into the game through housing.

Let me know what you think! :)

I would so be down for Furniture like this. Not only would I utilize the ability to tell stories, but also design fun riddle/hide and seek minigames in my houses.

Fabulous idea! I love a good story and it would definitely add another layer to the intrigue of many of these homes.

This was a thing in another game I played, and I really loved it. Guilds could have written guild rules in the hall. People could tell the stories of their homes. I did a restaurant once, complete with menus and also a torture chamber with a book of crimes committed by the...guests within. I hope we get that type of book here.

What Alexsae said. Another game had this for years, it had limited space but it was really useful, really cool and they adapted it for - scrolls, paper, and greeting cards even for seasons.

People didn't abuse it nearly as much as the company thought either. So I think ZOS could really stand to get behind it. I'd love to have actual letters on my characters desk.. or perhaps some wizard who writes a dissertation on the origin of Vvardvark..

It's been on my absolute top most wanted item for housing since I started playing.
