Mac - Launcher remains open in the background as EOS runs, and remains open after closing EOS.

I just posted a thread in regards to a separate issue, and thought it would be more appropriate to create another for a completely unrelated issue, as opposed to detailing both problems within one discussion.

When starting EOS from the launcher, the launcher window remains open in the background as EOS runs. Even after quitting EOS, the launcher remains open.

I'm running a late 2013 rMBP + 750m.

Is it supposed to do this? I would imagine not, as I am not having this issue on the Windows side of things.

Thanks for your time and assistance.

I believe it's there so that you can more quickly re-launch the application after the game crashes.

Anyway, I've noticed the same thing, and I recommend hitting the X to close the launcher right after clicking PLAY – it'll close the launcher, freeing up resources, and the game will load as normal.

Don't worry, @izmar. The launcher is designed to remain open after ESO has been launched. Players are welcome to close the launcher if they would like to while they play the game.

If you have limited RAM like 4GB then it will help to close it. This is true of any other apps while playing. Also, it's recommended to reboot the Mac before playing to free up as much memory as possible.
