I would be ok with AoE mitigation via Evasion, if only ZOS would stop changing AoE skills to projectiles xD

25% is a bit too much, if I think of a stamnb, values should be 8/15%, not 5/25%. But it's zos, so I'm happy it's not a 0.2/60% tbh.

Updated the interaction between Roll Dodge and projectiles.
Fixed an issue where a projectile would always be dodged if the target was Roll Dodging at the moment the projectile was created.
Projectiles can now only be evaded if the Roll Dodge occurs within one second prior to their impact.

This should make the March of Sacrifices hunt phase much more interesting (not being able to see projectile fireballs and having to rely on audio queues or addons). This change really puts the screws to individuals with higher latency on a server that already suffers from varying response times to the actions we perform. Let us hope dodging heavy and charged attacks remains as is.

It's good but as a heavy pvp SEA player. 250 ping isn't gonna do me justice on dodge roll changes.

So DID you guys read the patch notes concerning the ROLL Dodge changes and Evasion Buff redesign. Also the new healing negating set.

Minor/Major Evasion: These buffs no longer grant a passive chance to dodge. They now reduce the damage you take from area of effect attacks by 5/25%. All abilities that previously granted Minor or Major Evasion have been converted to this new effect, and the Blade Cloak ability now grants Major Evasion.

    2: Weapon Damage
    3: Weapon Critical
    4: Weapon Damage
5: When you deal damage with a melee attack, you have a 25% chance to traumatize your enemy, negating their next 5500 points of healing for 4 seconds. This effect can occur once every 4 seconds.

I think it's a buff, considering how many abilities are aoes and the current meta of spin2win dbos
Getting around 15k mitigation easily is a huge buff for all people who don't use dual wield(mag ladies whoops blades specially)
Its a buff for people who have movement and don't rely on the passive dodge chance to survive.
Its a nerf to people who have no movement or situational awareness to dodge dangerous projectiles

My only question about that change is, did they factor in lag? They test this stuff on a server with nobody else on it with perfect latency. All I read on these forums is how terrible lag is in pvp, I'm curious to see how well it works on live.

Of course now we will probably have more heavy armor nbs that also have 25% aoe mitigation so thats going to be sweet.

You are clueless if you think that 25 aoe is better then 15% dodge. For medium tank this is major nerf which makes playing such type of tank pointless. As a medium dk i if course may return to heavy armor and plague doctor and live inside hard as nuts bonewalls/igneous shields after patch, but it so boring and obvious way so i dont see point to use it.

    Medium armor tanks.

Nice, fight the meta, be your own you.

    Magblade perspective:

It is probably good for PVP, but it's a Magicka nightblade nerf. As a magblade, I use one of the Blur morphs, but also roll dodge, block, and bash as needed. I have a reasonable amount of stamina; I might need more after the update.

That said, the 25% aoe damage mitigation might be useful for magblade if I continue to use Blur. I'll try it.

    Might be joking in comments.

That set is stupid. I mean I hate unkillable tanks that heal in PvP, but when you put this on a ganker, it just makes their job even easier. This seems like a lazy way of making medium armor builds viable, by giving them a set as opposed to actually balancing or fixing anything.

I can finally quit using heartland to counter all those dawnbreaker-tornado spammers. Fairly interested in what this does to PvP meta.

I feel that if the dodge chance has something to do with having a better internet. (My internet sucks btw)
Everytime im fighting someone i would throw a javelin and it would miss 3 times in a row so ill just use rending and then itll be dodged. But when i use shuffle, its so RARE for me to dodge things. I even dueled this low level magpkar and i stood still spamming heals and he did FIVE rotation on me and my shuffle did not dodge ANYTHING. I even clipped it. HE was using eclipse, purifying light, spear, and sweep. 5 rotations. Nothing dodged. But when i duel people theyd dodge rending and javelin. So im feel like "ehh" on this one since i know for a fact that people who has the fastest and better internet has more chance to shuffle attacks. Also its so rare for me to shuffle an incap. Yet when i play a nb, my enemy would shuffle my incap like twice in a row... i know my internet is sh** too because when i dodge roll i still get hit. So im not trippin bout this change at all

I can't wait to try and roll dodge the fireball attack in vMos HM while in hunt phases, when you can't even see the boss and have to rely on the combat notifications exclusively. GG zos

The passive dodge chance was one of the most disjointed things in the entire combat system. We have this whole thing set up to be reaction-based, require good planning and execution, etc., but then someone just had a 20% chance to ignore the flow of combat, completely uncontrolled by either party? No thanks, bad design. The passive dodge chance needed to go, it went, and we'll all be better for it. All they need to do now is make it so every proc set has a reaction option and we're golden.

The roll dodge change makes a decent amount of sense but I'm way less married to the idea. I didn't even know it was on peoples' minds. I could absolutely go either way with it, so we'll see how it plays out on live or after more PTS testing.
