I tried on PTS. It's absolutely disgusting, awful, not comfortable. It's more then ONE SECOND, MORE LIKE THREE OR MORE SECONDS.
Animation canceling not work. So vigor you can cast instant yes?
Revert it back.
You won ok. Make sorc dead at PVP, but back instant shield cast wtf, it's NOT COMFORTABLE TO PLAY I WANT TO QUIT, DON'T WANT TO PLAY PVE, DON'T WANT TO BUY YOUR DLC, CROWNS, GL.

✭Shields are worthless with the 1 second cast timer. Unslot them folks.
As for the change to allow crits and armor mitigation with shields, I actually agree with those as well as the removal of passive dodge from roll dodge (no more infinite dodge roll dodge on cooldown stam builds). It IS disgusting, awful, and uncomfortable (based on the gif posted below, I havent' actually spun up PTS), but it does look like it's one second. One second is just a long time in ESO combat to be stuck in an animation.Thrice Empress, Forever Scrub8 -
DeathStalker✭✭✭✭✭I tested this and agree it takes longer than one second. It's more like 2-4 second cast time. It's easy to test. If you have empowered ward it should have now a 14-second duration. cast empowered ward then recast it and see how many seconds have passed on the 14-second timer countdown of empowered ward. Either slow down how fast the 14- seconds tick or reduce the cast time. I mean I would love for you to eliminate the cast time because the only thing you have accomplished is making empowered ward useless.

It makes, incap, light attack, bash, surprise attack, execute the new stamblade meta rotation. Because I know when running my mag sorc to immediately hit shield the moment I get hit with or hear incap. That will just lead to a stun and death now.7 -

✭✭✭✭✭As a Magplar main who shook his head at the 1.1-1.7s cast time that was attached to Healing Ritual for 4 years, which was finally eliminated a few months ago, I have to shake my head at this decision to add a cast time to Magsorc shields.
ZoS, you made them critable, which adds extra damage to all but the most stacked crit defense builds. Why not just let that change run it's course first before adding the one thing that will kill any skill in the game instantly?19 -

I mean... you cant animation cancel cast time abilities anyways so i dont see how that even enters the equation.1 -
Jerdeh✭✭✭✭This change is just stupid to be honest. And the fact that the shield casting can be interrupted with along to casting time. Basically ZOS wanted to destroy only defense that light armor builds have. If you need to change something in shields, cut the amount in half that shield protects or something but not cast time to it. I have played since betas and seen all kind of changes but this is just one of the most absurd.Been playing since betas 20148 -

Indeed. The time for the command to travel to the server and the server feedback to travel back to you has to be added. And while you fight somebody, the server now also must decide if you already are interrupted, so your shield keypress is invalid. And the more people are fighting, the more the server is flooded with commands and the less you can depend on your -now unsafe- shield skill. Happy lagging... ZOS probably killed shields for real lagging life PvP...9
