(PvE)Benefits to the new evasions and shield systems.

These changes have helped tanking in my opinion. Now skills like bone shield and blazing shield will be a viable option for defense as a tank. Evasion can now be used via hist bark to reduce the AoE damage by a whopping 25% (30% on a warden!). From purely a tank perspective I am excited.

    Its a buff if you didnt rely on damage shields or evasion for survivability in PVP.

    For PvE it’s going to be even less useful for tanking. How many bosses are going to be hitting you with AoE attacks enough for it to matter?

    How many of those AoE attacks are going to kill you anyway a la Asylum steam? It’s a useless change that no one wanted

    There’s plenty of ground AoE in both dungeons and trials. Now you can slow down that damage (which typically isn’t negated through block so it catches people off guard more in my opinion)

    Maybe, but judging by how the patch notes say they want dodging to be a proactive response compared to a passive effect I doubt it.

    Yet us tanks get blessed set. And.......

    Smart tank will stay away from aoe unless they have no choice.
    New evasion is terrible, NB tank is in bad spot again.
    Sap tank is dead.
    Ulti regen tank is dead.
    Zos, why?

    NBs can’t tank at all anymore. They can’t heal because they won’t match a Templar and they can’t contribute meaningful damage anymore.

    If you were standing in AoEs, you’re a bad tank, and this complete gut job doesn’t mean you should keep standing in them
