Give Duel-Wield a benefit for Magicka Users

Before 2h was considered a 2p, Duel Wield was always a good option to go for the 5p.
But now? Theirs literally 0 point for a Mag toon to run it.. unless youre a melee MagBlade.

Personally, id like something done for duel wield that gives a good benefit over Destro to help create more build diversity..
I just miss the good ol' MagSorc duel-wield days... those MagSorcs were the real OG's.

Ideas;
Give Duel-Wield a passive (Or add it) to where Magick skills deal like 5% more damage or,
Give Duel-Wield a passive that increase spell crit and wep crit or,
Give Duel-Wield a passive that increase shield strength by 5% or,
Make the 5% more damage from Twin Blade Blunt 12% more damage while at 50% HP or lower (Or something along those lines)

Im not sure, but something.. id love to see Magicka users run Duel-Wield again.. especially MagSorcs..
Give the dying build-diversity in ESO another shot at life.

There is -no- logical reason AT ALL why grabbing two physical weapons should help with spellcasting. It was an aberration before, and it should never be revived.

Now, if we were to start about talking new weapons, like... grabbing two -magical- weapons that help spellcasting...

I'd like a new weapon that was some sort of magical knife or sword that magicka users could have as an alternative to staves. It would probably have to be a new weapon though, not a dw passive. Maybe it could be something like a cursed weapon.

What about Bound Weapons? Would that work?

Doesn't dual wielding swords give 5% extra damage from one of the passives? (which counts as spell or weapon damage).

Unless it was changed, the Twin Blade and Blunt passive gives a character a total of 5% bonus damage done. Plus your off-hand weapon boosts both physical and spell damage (just not quite as much as your main hand). Maybe there's better maths using staves that negate that? I dunno, I've been using dual-wield on my magicka templar for ages, seems to do okay for me so far. But I don't follow the meta, so...

And it gives more base spell damage, together those give you more damage for spells then either the lightning staff or fire staff but you loss out on light and heavy attacks, those are important.

Yeah... because we should emulate a game where magic users cannot equip melee weapons at all, now.

Yes, back before Morrowind dual sword was meta on templar and some other magic builds because of the bonus to spell damage and you could use 5+5+2, then came Morrowind with the requirement for HA, staffs being two pieces and buff to LA.
Think ZoS has pretty much stated they don't want magic users using swords.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

That ended after stave were given 8% aoe and 8% st.not to mention light attack scale with magicka so you are screwing youself.Better off asking for a new magic weapon.

The Applying of 'logic' to Magic is a real sound argument, really is.

What on earth are you basing that logic on?

Sadly OP you have no chance.

MagDW has been a thing for an age, but patch after patch we have seen nerfs. Some direct, some indirect such as webs, and the passive buff to Destro.

MagDW is NOT a direction ZOS want to go in. Quite the opposite.

I'm ALL for it. I hate the 'wizards with wands' pigeon hoping we have. They all for role diversity Sorcs tanking etc which us way more alien than allowing weopon diversity in my opinion.

But oddly people have this weird view Wizards need to be weak old men with staffs and grey beards lol.

It's crappy, but honestly dude MagDW has had a few too many nails in its coffin

No point in running dual wield anymore for magicka builds
