Such as today's Ruins of Mazz. For a vet run HM, what CP do you expect from parties?

300 is "optimal", but 160+ is perfectly fine in most cases (newer DLC dungeons nonwithstanding). CP means absolutely nothing for healers and tanks - and very little for DPS considering most dungeons were cleared without CP.

Honestly I wish that number was completely private and I find the obsession with the number baffling outside of gear requirements - it has nothing to do with skill, only time invested on the account as whole. I may kick ass on my 750 warden but be horrible on my 750 NB - and the only way you'll ever know is if we play together. On the same side - I could have come from xbox to pc and be starting a new character - but that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing.

It should be about performance not the number.

You're using 'optimal' as a synonym for 'acceptable', it seems like. 300 is acceptable if the person running that account knows how to play.

Optimal, though, is always going to be an experienced player with capped CP.

I'm saying optimal b/c we tried several times with a less than 500 player and couldn't make it. I just wondered if Z made it for 600cp on vet hm. But if they didn't know mechanics, then perhaps that's the reason and not the cp level.

This is correct. Most of the time.

There’s rarely that weird max cp account that can’t find its back end with both hands...

I didn’t start any dungeons of any kind until cp300, but that’s because this forum makes the community look a lot more callous than it actually is.

Don’t forget someone maybe be lvl 48 and 780 cp that you just can’t see, we roll alts all the time.

You are asking what CP is optimal. Clearly that would be capped. Of course considering it is allocated appropriately.

I expect you intended to ask the question differently. There are players that with only 160 CP can out dps a great many CP capped players. Skill is the most important factor.

Are you sure it was even that players fault? I mean, it's hard to know what was happening without more details. Did you have a real tank? A real healer? Was the other dps up to snuff? Were you paying attention to mechanics or trying to burn it down and ignore mechanics?

It's hard to judge because this is not just a numbers thing, it's an experience thing and those two are not mutually exclusive. In fact, many high level cp players have never touched a dungeon for whatever reason, and some lower levels can run it blindfolded.

*shrug* I'm not saying it wasn't their fault, but also, I can say it was with the info provided.

These point is, zos designed it to be hard when it was released - but they didn't design it fit a specific number because that's impossible to do with the wide range of player ability.

In my experience - CP levels is not a good gauge.

If I recall correctly, they are balanced around 300 CP. After that as you put points in you no longer get more resources. You can do them on less and fail with more. Skill and knowledge of mechanics is more important.

This, note that the cp160 player has an problem in that he has not assembled good gear yet.
If very lucky he has one crafted cp 160 set.
At 300 you have decent gear and more experience.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I had that same experience. The forum is a ghetto. Once I actually dove in and started playing the content I have had typically positive experiences.

The vet DLC dungeons mechanics and difficulty are designed for a minimum of 300+ CP.
Though it's not optimal and I recommend running vet DLC dungeons at 600+ CP.

The devs have often mentioned in ESO live videos that they tune dlc dungeons for ~300cp
