Unfortunately, this was asked for a long time ago and no response from ZOS except something like "we don't have such plans for now". I would definitely change my khajiit's passives to try make a tank or a healer without creating and leveling another character. That's why a love GW2. Race in GW2 is just an appearance. You can make a huge charr mesmer covered with pink butterflies :D
But here's also a part of community which is against of such cnahged due to "lore problems". From one side, they're right. From another - ESO became so boring, and making passives more flexible would be a good step from ZOS.

Khajiit are cat-like people who come from Elsweyr, known for high intelligence and agility.[1] These traits make them very good thieves and acrobats, but Khajiit are also fearsome warriors. However, they are rarely known to be mages.[2] Khajiit mostly stay on land, but piracy and skooma trade does draw some to work as sailors.[3][4]

Noone is stopping you from playing a Khajiit Templar healer though. Just like everyone else in the TES universe you must outweigh your racial drawbacks with personal skill and determination.

It's a good choice by ZoS to keep the races different. You want the race as a cosmetic choice, which actually goes against the idea of a RPG.

SInce when cosmetic choice of race is agains of so-called "idea of RPG"? When it gives you less possibilities to play a role you want?

Also, there was a proposition (for many times) not to make a race as a pure cosmetic choice, but make it more flexible. For example, all races could have stamina and magicka choices. Combining them you get ahieve the "role" (=build) you want, both pure magicka/stamina and hybrid. In any case, this will give more options.

ZOS have the whole statistics about races/classes choices, but I'm not sure if they ever published it.

Talking about khajiits: I've seen magicka khajiit NB only once since beta times. I tried to play mNB, but I was too ineffective with stam bonuces on magicka build.

    Hopefully never!

If you want to have argonian passives, play an argonian. If you want to have khajiit looks, play a khajiit.

At best we might someday see a passives reworking that prevents them from having such an huge endgame impact, giving characters a boost at the start instead, but letting -every- race eventually excel at everything, just some may need more effort to get there. Which would be far better then what we have now...

And perhaps adding some additional -new- passives, not racial ones, but... background passives. Like, if your character grew up working the fields all day, get extra stamina, if your character grew up with their nose in the books all day, gain extra magica, etc. And that one -would- be freely selectable...

I play a Bosmer Magblade and Magden and they play well..

Yes its slightly weaker than a dark elf or altmer but it has a better pool of stamina than darkelves or Altmers though.. which comes in handy in different ways.

Since race has never been a purely cosmetic choice. It's called "biology" and "genetics". Racial passives attempt to reflect that.

It doesn't mean Redguards can't be mages or Altmer can't be warriors. It just means they're natural traits give them an edge in those tasks.

I agree with OP. I think the chances of a magically gifted Khajiit, for example, would be much greater than the chances of a character who saves all three alliances from destruction while besting several Daedra Lords.

Nearly every NPC you encounter assures you that you are 'The Chosen One'. I see no reason for every member of every race to have exactly the same strengths and weakness - particularly a character who is 'The Chosen One'.

All Khajiit racial bonuses suck since they don't give any max stats.

They're bad for both Stam and Magicka so you can use it with either one

I have a friend with a Khajit Nighblade tank and one with a Khajit Templar off-healer.

I have an Argonian magsorc and a bosmer templar healer.

We are all perfectly happy with our characters.

The race doesn’t matter. Only 5% of the game (20 or so raid guilds across all 3 platforms looking for high score and world firsts) require this. You can do every single part of this game successfully as the “wrong” race.
