Please do something about the Psijic quest.

Look, I understand that Summerset has a fully fleshed out quest line, and I enjoyed it, and I think it's okay that the Psijic quest line is kind of just some busy work. You have to make it earned and take SOME time.

But doing it the 5th time through and I'm just frustrated. It's excruciating. Since it isn't common practice to unlock any quest lines for all characters, I imagine that isn't a fix that is possible. However I think in a future update you should strongly consider removing at least 1/3rd of the breaches or steps in the quest.

1.) It's not fun
2.) It's not interesting
3.) The Skull "jokes" are fun to hear the first time through.
4.) I feel like I'm being punished
5.) Death to Videodrome, Long Live the New Flesh

    Can't agree more
Did it 5 times too (3 DDs, healer and tank).
At 3rd time I got a wish to find designer of this quest IRL, also as skull's voice actor...

Then they would need to do something about Mages, Fighters, Thieves, and Dark Brotherhood....

INB4 they put guild exp scrolls up on the Crown Store, 2,500 per level.

Yeah, I found this quest frustrating even the FIRST time through.

I liked it in certain ways, like it was a good way to unlock wayshrines/skyshards/lorebooks on characters that I haven't been everywhere with, and I found the jokes and voice acting very enjoyable.

But it takes way too long. It feels like a glorified fetch quest. And after having ran across the whole world multiple times to level up the Mage's Guild skill line? It just feels kind of cruel to put players through that kind of leveling again.

TLDR; I loved the skull character and thought he was funny, but having to level yet another skill by running across the whole map is just mean.

Fighters guild levels itself pretty much; never had a problem with that one though I suppose if you're primarily a pvp player that would make some sense.

I've only done thives and DB on my 'rogue' character and thought it was great - not sure I feel compelled to do either on on my chars for any reason.

Mages guild, i think they could probably double the xp you get from each book and add a little more to the set completions. Basically as I have suggested for psijic, just reduce it by about 1/3rd. Although, I don't midn the mages nearly as much as psijic. At least you can clear out a zone and you're not porting around back and forth to artaeum, for some reason going through the same formulaic "go talk to josie" especially when you can see how that's gonna go like a mile away.

While I get where you're coming from, I'm fairly comfortable saying that this was about the easiest skill grind in the game. Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Legardemain, Undaunted, Mage's Guild, and Fighter's Guild all take a lot longer and are generally less engaging. It's not perfect, but it's a step towards improvement.

Psijic is, literally, the easiest and fastest guild line to max. It's one of the easiest skill lines to max in the game. The only thing that will go faster (without some serious speed grinding) is werewolf. You can litterally max a new character's pisjic line in an afternoon.

Good luck doing that with Mage's Guild or Undaunted.

with mages guild if you just copmlete the zone lore in each zone it's very quick, and you dont have to go back and forth to artaeum every time you finish a level.Fact: psijic takes longer.

Off the top of my head, you need about 3 to 4 times as many books as collectibles in the Psijic skill line. So, no, not really. I suppose if you've got a slow horse, it might be a different situation, I can't test that on live.

I always say this when i have to do it again lol. Now coming from xbox to pc i got to experience the addon showing the breeches. Made this task easier but not less painful. I went back on to xbox when summerset release and i couldn't even get myself to finish the first breeches part outside of summerset.

I do agree that they probably will never make it easier. Even if i complained about the theives/brotherhood i'd rather do the dailies to level.

I found the psijic line far less of a hassle then getting TG or DB up in the end... sure, its not as easy as grinding fighters guild at a dolmen, but... whoever said it should be?

In the end, its like any other thing. Spend the effort to do it, or do without on this or that character. Same as TG or DB, same as legerdemain or alliance rank, same as undaunted or whatever...

Yes, it can be grating if you do it because you want this "rite nao". If you did it along the way, quest a bit, fetch a bit, quest a bit more, do another psijic turn-in visit, quest a bit more, fetch a bit... etc.; then it suddenly becomes far less of an hassle...

They did; each of those now has at least one type of daily quest you can do instead of hunting for books/killing Daedra/etc. And even without that, you have the option to (for example) hunt for lorebooks in the Covenant on character #1 and in the Dominion for character #2, so it's possible to mix it up a little. Not so with the Psijics.

Those daily quests level it so slowly that unless you're going for the story, motif drops, or achievements related to them they are absolutely not worth it compared to the normal leveling methods like book collecting and dolmen grinding.

Yes, obviously! The whole solution is to grind even slower by doing useless and boring quests thar you've already done before between them!

Wow, you have 5 characters that need the psijic skill line? I only do it on my new Tanks. It's a milk run type quest which brings me to most of the zones and I can pick up the skyshards along the way.

I got through the entire line on one girl - with help from a friend for the final battles (lag.... 2 second lag.... means you just can't kill what you need to kill in there....)

The rest of my girls, well, some I don't do any of it on, some I do only enough to get the Portal ability, the others I do up to the Divad's Chagrin part and then just abandon it.

I actually found the skull funny and cool. And now, having completed the whole quest once (thanks Lap!), I get to have him anywhere I want him.

If you grind, then the boring mindlessness of the activity is your punishment!

If you just play the game, if you just enjoy the road, take your time to smell the flowers (then pick them for alchemy ingredients) it is a lot more bearable.

So far I have seen no argument other then "I'm lazy and want to run alts without having to bother doing the content more than once, so gimme!".

If ZOS ever was to do anything in that regard, it would come as crown "convenience item". How good would it sound to you to pay, say, 5000 crowns for each alt to max Psijic without the fetching? Me, I rather spend some time, play the game, have some fun, and do it en passant...

I would hardly call not wanting to go through mind-numbing tedium 15 times over "not wanting to play the game" or "lazy"

Lazy is just the word people use to describe people who want more convenience than they had

"Playing the game" is not open world. Not for people that don't want to do open world. It is just a gateway for them, a gateway that most would rather bypass.

Sorry to shatter your fantasy that open world is perfect, but it's not. It's frankly more boring than grinding, and much, much slower.

(P.S., why is grinding deserving of a punishment? I see absolutely no reason)
