ZOS, Please Add Furniture Grouping Tools

For those of you who have done any 3D modeling, you already know the value of grouping tools with objects. Basically what this does is allow you to select a group of objects, and have them be part of one group that can be moved or transferred together as one complete group. For example, I have a shrine to Azura that consists of her main statue, the star & moon statues, daedric pedestal, book, several flowers, and a few other objects. So what if you wanted to move the entire shrine somewhere else on the same property, or maybe a new house you purchased? Currently you would have to break down each piece one at a time and move them manually, a major pain in the arse. But if we had grouping tools, you could select a complete named grouped such as "Azura Shrine", and move everything in one shot. Much easier. Actually, I'm surprised the editor didn't include this already, but I guess they couldn't do everything on the Homestead update. So @ZOS_GinaBruno , @ZOS_JessicaFolsom , a future possiblity? :)

I suggested this on another thread and it was ignored. If they could let you snap it altogether as one item especially when you are phasing items into other items it could allow them to be more forgivable with item count.

Well all we can do is put forth our ideas and see what happens. You would think that with the limited functionality that housing currently has, they would do anything to make Homestead more attractive to the users.

True but, all I can say is that I would love this feature.

While the ability to select and move multiple objects at the same time should be in the game, I dont see how they could move the group to a different home. It would require some heavy coding in order to create a ststem that would essentially allow the player to create inventory objects on the fly. While that may be simple enough in a stand alone game, it may be open to exploits in an MMO.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I managed to do it ...

Essential Housing Tools if anyone is looking for the ability to Cut & Paste within the same house or to a different house. Of course, it does not actually clone items -- but just having duplicates of the items copied is enough. And it will find them anywhere -- in your bank, in your storage chests and coffers, or on your character. (Plus it has literally a ton of other features and I update it multiple times per week)

    Hi there!

Just to confirm, yes, the ability to link objects in your house so they move together is coming in the Murkmire update. We're also adding the ability undo and redo your actions when updating your house.

@ZOS_RichLambert talked about these features during this past weekend's PAX event:

I presumed this feature was aimed at console players. Given that your add-on already offers this and so much more for PC. I personally would be disappointed if the only QoL feature they introduced next patch was part of something we already have in an add-on

Speaking of people knowing 3D, anyone who knows 3D and game development knows and understand the value of Player Collision so that players don't fall through floors and go through walls as well as Ability/Spell Collision so that AoE and non-target specific abilities don't fall through flooring.

I think it is intended primarily for them - and it should be a game-changer for console players (pun intended?). Really, I just wanted to take a moment for a gratuitous mention of Essential for any PC players that may not have tried it yet.

Oh, and I do genuinely hope that I will be able to integrate the new Grouping feature into Essential as a possible Item Selection function replacement, assuming their implementation is flexible and also provides for API access to grouped items.

If not, I will just leave my current Select tab as is - though it would be a shame to have two different ways to select and group edit items.

Is there any remote chance you will consider improving the lighting in houses as well? I mentioned this here and here.

Awesome! I only have to hope that the whole group won't be gone into some Oblivion pocket plane which I don't have access to and where the things from the people's housing storage have gone previously xD
