Bug with housing - lighting

I found what I presume is a bug: light going through floors.

I bought each one of the Varla and Culanda stones, placed them on the ceiling of the lowest floor in Gardner house in Wayrest, and the light actually goes to the floor above.

I don't think it should happen regardless of the light source intensity.

    @Octopuss :

    It seems to be possible that some part of the end of each stone is embedded in the ceiling of the "undercroft", and that could cause their light to be shown on the main floor above.

    Using the "align" function of the Housing Editor would probably place them parallel to the ceiling, but without any "clipping" into the ceiling qua object.

    If you want them to remain vertical with respect to the floor/ceiling, then you can more easily adjust their "elevation" by using the Object Mover mode of the add-on Homestead Item Mover, which moves items up or down, back or forward to the left, or back or forward to the right. It also has a Rotation Mode for pitch, yaw, and roll.

    Or you might want to examine the add-on Homestead Engineer. I have installed it but I haven't used it yet.

    Good luck!

    The light goes through the ceiling even if the stones are floating in the air, so it's definitely a bug.

    Yes, that does appear to be the case, but there is one more thing that I would like to ask. If you retrieved both stones and went upstairs, would the light still be shown on the floor as it is displayed in the second screenshot?

    I've thought about acquiring the Gardner House, but chose Captain Margaux's Place in Daggerfall instead. Not nearly so much room, but I don't need the space for Attunable Crafting Stations. Instead, I can use the ones in the three Guild Halls of which I am a member. (I contributed some of them.)

    Nope, the light disappears when you remove the crystals. That would be pretty weird if it didn't.

    The whole housing feature is so lousily made it's not even funny :(

    @devs, wouldn't this be a good time to take a look at this before Summerset goes live?

    Bleed through is rampant with the Varla and Culanda stones. You can bury them 10 ft underground and they will still show light where there are seams in the textures. They also wash out all the features around if they are exposed and not concealed. It would be nice if they decreased the intensity, or gave us a virtual rheostat to adjust it ourselves.

    Or better yet, fix the damn game so solid objects don't let light pass through...

    This is apparently never going to be fixed.
