Guilds had auction houses/npcs only in specific towns/regions that you had to travel to and only players in that guild could see those auctions.
Last time I played I learned that in order to post things to an auction house, you first had to join a trading guild. Guilds had auction houses/npcs only in specific towns/regions that you had to travel to and only players in that guild could see those auctions. Furthermore said guilds had a limit of 500 players and occupied one of your 5 player guild slots. Is this still how trading works in the game to this day?

Some have weekly sales requirements you need to meet, but this usually isn't too much unless they are big trading guilds with traders in places like Craglorn or Rawl'kha for instance. Some require a weekly donation, and most offer incentives such as raffles to get more money for trader bids. I've been with the same trading guild for a long time now and they've only lost their trader twice. I'm not great at farming, but if I don't meet the weekly requirement I just donate some money to the guild bank.
Some people make millions a week, trading is all they do. But there's an awful lot more to the game now, it might be worthwhile checking it out.
