wouldnt it be great if all your characters could be placed in your home and you could access their inventory this way without having to log them into the game? It would be even better if you could load all your characters when you load your home and seemlessly switch between them as required.

your home then becomes essentially the login screen.

Home is not singular for a lot of players. Each of my characters has a home, and several have two.

I want mine to be able to sleep in their beds when I log out.

While it would be really cool making something like that happen in game is a lot more difficult than you would think. It's never going to happen.

I’ve wanted this for ages with the added bonus of being able to trade gear directly with them.

...or even as other members of our family...what minimal RP I allow myself ATM, is that all of my chars are part of a team, or family, if you will, despite the obvious racial differences <g>...but being able to even just see them without being able to interact would be very cool...

I've seen a cool pc add on too where you can check all your other characters inventory from a bank. I wish that was on console

I've long since wished we could have the characters we aren't currently using in our houses. Maybe assign paths for them to walk, emotes and activities to do, that sort of thing. And maybe have some trade function where we take or trade items they're holding so we don't have to switch over to deposit in our bank.

I know FFXIV does this if you use a bed to log out. Your character climbs into it and the screen fades to black. Then when you log back in they "wake up" in the bed and do a stretch before they climb out and control switches back to the player. It's pretty nifty.

I wish that all my characters on one account could travel to all my homes on the other account.

However, squeezing all my characters across two accounts into an inn room isn't my highest priority

do you mean to go to a bank and be able to check all the other characters inventory? there's another that you can check at any time, without going to a bank. It's called Inventory Insight, and you can also check everyone's currency as well...in my opinion, it's a must-have...
