I am starting to get annoyed by this problem now. It seems like about 1/3 of my attempts to load into a random dungeon is thwarted by these 5 minute or more loading screens.
By the time you load in, most of the team have given up and left. I know it's not just me though because those remaining also say they had the same long loading screen. My connection is fine, it's nothing at my end. Fix this problem ZOS.
This happens every now and then, craglorn recently started doing it for me, shortly followed by group dungeons.... only they don’t stop at five minutes, they just sit there on a loading loop, only way to un glitch it is to use the pc to force eso to close then load back in at which point it opens almost instantly
wtf, I have 15 toons, and trying to load them up twice a day tanks over 2 hours, that does not leave much time to do the enjoyable stuff. come on guys, drop the spy ware
It's not just the loading screens, as in zoning, the entire technology behind this should be killed in fire.
Anyone ever noticed how when you log in the launcher, you stare at "requesting login" (or something) for several seconds, and then it takes upwards of a minute to actually get to character selection screen?
And THEN you get stuck at "requesting character load" for several seconds as well, and THEN FINALLY the game actually starts to load?
This is pure BS and I don't understand how ZOS hasn't ever noticed that something was completely wrong with some of the most important underlaying tech that runs the damn game.
The whole thing would be totally inappropriately crappy even ten years ago.
Does it take this long to reloadui as it does to load into a zone? If so, it’s not ESO, it’s your PC.
Reloadui takes a while, but certainly not as long as zoning. It was really bad last night when I tried to have my crafter upgrade some gear for my current main toon and had to switch back and forth before we started a trial. It just wasn't going to happen.
When I had inordinately long loading screens, I cleaned out my addon folder and then started adding them back in small groups. I ended up starting Master Merchant from scratch, and that really helped make loading faster.
I also long ago disabled Harvest Map, as I found that made loading very long.
