I'm sick and tired of pugging dungeons only to have 1337NB420 over there be an absolute rear-end of a baboon. That's right, I'm talking to you Jimmy, who pulled every single mob in Blackheart Haven, ran from the group, died, and then started cursing in chat and rage quit because no one was doing the dungeon "how it was supposed to be done". I'm also talking to you, Greta, who wanted a lorebook in Tempest Island and instead of asking nicely for the group to kill the mobs next to it, just started raging and telling everyone in the group how stupid they are.
It's an MMO people. That means, PREPARE YOURSELVES, I KNOW, IT'S A SHOCKER: a massive amount of people who all have different ideas and want different things.
For the new player or character:
If you need something, speak up. No one will be able to wait for your quest/help with mechanics/give you gear if no one knows. Ask nicely. If you start off shouting obscenities at the group no one will stop to help you. If you're new and someone offers you a few tips or explains something, try to take the advice graciously. Most players who take the time to explain things are only trying to help you, even if you disagree with the advice or didn't want it.
For the advanced player:
If someone needs the quest and they say so, give them the 5 seconds to talk to the NPC. If someone needs gear, don't run ahead and start soloing the boss so they can't get through the door or get their loot. If someone says it's their first time in the dungeon or they don't understand mechanics, take five seconds to type a few brief directions so they know what to do on their next run. If you see someone hard-casting crystal frags with a bow, take five seconds to ask them nicely if they want help with their build so they do more damage. If you don't have time to do any of these things, you should not be PUGing. Form your own group.
It's really super simple. An inch of patience and kindness will make the game miles nicer for everyone to play in.
