Am I the only ESO player who never played any other Elder Scrolls game?

    I watched someone playing one of the games back about 15 yrs ago on a Playstation. I got dragged into this game kicking and screaming off of Destiny, which i got dragged into kicking and screaming off of Halo...so now I don't play ESO, I live in Tamriel :p
    Ebonheart Pact, Nord Templar/healer on NA Xbox server. My main toon WAS a tall and foxy redhead - now she has been gamma-irradiated and has green skin and black hair. 3 other characters I only use for writs. Can't be bothered to create multiple toons - EXCEPT now my WW is getting spooled up for Cyrodiil - Blood For The Pact! IRL cranky sometimes redhead chick at large in Las Vegas, NV

    I'm just curious to see if I may in fact be the only one! Everyone I ever talk to mentions the other games as if they're a given. This game is my first Elder Scrolls game, period. I intend to get the others at some point, I feel like I need to catch up now. xD

    Never played any other TES game except ESO :) Since WoW came to life I play only mmos and some Total Wars from time to time. When you are used to play against and along with real people, single players games isnt fun.

    Also worth noting that you can get the 1st 2 games free (Arena, Daggerfall), with one of the newer 3 on GOG sometimes (atm with the sale for example) and maybe without as Bethesda gave them away a few years back on one of the Anniversaries

    The only reason I play ESO is because of past TES games and the lore. If I didn't, I would have deleted this game a long time ago lol.

    There are a lot of MMO people here that haven't played any other TES games.

    Also, there are a lot of people like me. I have never played another MMORPG and probably never will unless another IP I really love comes out with one. I'll play FO76, but that feels like a different genre to me.

    MMOs I would play: Mass Effect, The Witcher, Dragon Age, Fallout.

    I played Oblivion and Skyrim each for a long time. ESO is my first multiplayer game. I love the mass and scale of the game and enjoy its combat system. I will say that I consider the fact that ESO is multiplayer to be a drawback.

    I had Morrowind and Oblivion before, but I played both for less than 1 hour (and I sold both a long time ago). I have Skyrim, but I have never installed it.

    So yeah, ESO is really my first Elder Scrolls game.

    I would love a Mass Effect MMO!

    I'm a bit blah about the combat: Oblivion with FCOM worked well for me. Same balancing as Morrowind but more involved.

    One thing I really miss in ESO is the ability to mod stuff on a whim: don't like that house/outfitt/levelling quirk/position of random object/etc? Just change it. I probably spent as much time modding as I did playing.

    I tried one of the oblivion games when I was kid back in like 05 or something. I stopped playing after the first day. I remember thinking “this is really nerdy and the combat feels cheap”, but I didn’t know any better, all I played was gears, CoD and god of war lol. I gave Skyrim a shot just because, ended up being obsessed with it and that’s what got me into the whole open world rpg thing. Been playing eso a couple years now, but I still know close to nothing about lore

    Played at least 5k hours on morrowind, same with oblivion...then Skyrim luanched and it jumped to around 8k hrs to date...In ESO I added up all the hours on all the characters and finally broke a hundreds days...2.4k hrs...

    Don't get me started on other games...especially from Bethesda in general...

    only played ESO or 25yr vets from Arena on?

    Played every Pc game related to TES here

    I bet there aren't many of us who started with Arena. And Minyassa, my daughter and granddaughter never played TES (and still haven't) though they did beta ESO. They both went back to WoW and RIFT. Well, eventually g'daughter quit playing entirely while she finishes college.

    I played them a little bit. But I'm afraid of spiders and there's things you can't avoid in RPGs. :|
    Don't do random dungeons :)
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    In Skyrim, for instance, you have spiders in the overland area too. Well, also in ESO.

    I played the heck out of Skyrim, 2000+ hours, and a little less of Oblivion. I sometimes think I should go back and play the old Morrowind, but when I see the grafics I always back out...
    Played all of them to the death outside of Arena who I just tried a bit.

    I knew about TES back in the days, but never played any of them cause I was into the gold box AD&D games and later Bioware's Neverwinter Nights. I used to have Morrowind and Oblivian, but never played them. I bought Skyrim last year cause my sister and neice used to always play it. Got me interested and I was hooked. I knew about ESO for awhile, but never was interested in playing cause I didn't want to start over in a new MMO. Was playing SWTOR at the time. Well. Since I got hooked with Skyrim, I figured I would try it out. Been playing since September and I really like the game.

    There are those who arent Elder Scrolls fans and only came to ESO just because its an MMORPG. Thats understandable, when people prefer the genre over the story.

    Me, ive put hundreds of hours into Skyrim and dabbled a tiny bit in Oblivion.

    I started off with TES3: Morrowind in 2004.. Played Oblivion, Skyrim, and some of Daggerfall.
    Played a little of WoW, but hated it, so technically, ESO is my first MMO.
    TES lore and the world itself is why I play ESO.
    Just in case anyone didn't know, ESO is the 11th TES title.
    Here is a list of all TES games, release date, and where they reside in the time line.
    Huzzah!
    3E399 – TES I: Arena ~(1994) ~ {712 years after ESO}
    3E405 – TES II: Daggerfall ~(1996) ~ {718 years after ESO}
    3E 398- TES Legends: Battlespire ~(1997) ~ {711 years after ESO}
    2E864 – TES Legends: Redguard ~(1998) ~ {281 years after ESO}
    3E427 – TES III: Morrowind ~(2002) ~ {740 years after ESO}
    ?E ???- TES Travels:Stormhold ~(2003)
    3E 397- TES Legends: Shadowkey ~(2004) ~ {710 years after ESO}
    ?E ???- TES Travels: Dawnstar ~(2004)
    3E433 – TES IV: Oblivion ~(2006) ~{746 years after ESO}
    4E201 – TES V: Skyrim ~(2011) ~{948 years after ESO}
    (**Note: Unable to find time line for Dawnstar & Stormhold~Approx 3E 397-3E 400 I believe**)
