Am I the only ESO player who never played any other Elder Scrolls game?

This thread has confirmed something I have long suspected:

Some of the names, that I have repeatedly seen playing down the importance of Lore, are those who never played a TES game before.

Hmmm, people who have no previous investment in the series are more likely to be ok with gutting aspects of backstory and Lore. How... expected.

I looked at Skyrim (I think) for about 10 minutes and about 5 years ago. Had to get out of some cave or something, was thrown on a cart and taken to some village, and that was it. So I can't really say I played it.

Oher than that, yes ESO is my first. Was to busy with WoW

I played Oblivion many years ago. That is the only other Elder Scrolls game I have played.

I never played Elder Scrolls games before. In fact I stopped playing video games after like, Halo 2 back in high school. Then a few years ago bought an Xbox for the batman game. It came with a few other games, ESO being one. Out of all of them, it was the last I played, but was hooked instantly. Switched to PC 6 months later after I found out my brother plays too, and been playing for nearly 3 years.

I also don’t ever intend to play any other ES game, as I play games for social reasons moreso than anything.

What I noticed is the population is somewhat segmented between players who came here as ES fans and players who joined primarily as MMO fans.

Personally, I'd welcome both types of players, because the game can offer a lot to both. There is, no questino that sometime it is absolutely necessary and essential for players to group with one another. But a good portion of the game can be played solo.

If you came to this game without any prior knowledge of the ES series, I'd say you're missing out on almost nothing.

I never have, but I find myself enjoying the lore in ESO. I don't really find single player games as compelling; I own Skyrim but have never played it. The games I've stuck with the most are games with a mixture of single and multi player activities,and right now ESO is a good match. To counterpoint Iluvrien somewhat, I find that forum posters with a strong ES background and little MMO experience are the ones most likely to make suggestions that would be a nightmare for balance.

No you're not :-) I mean, I played Skyrim, but I did not even finish it yet, despite it's fantastic.
See, I paused playing Skyrim when ESO beta came out...

And I've got to know about TES world too late. I learned about Morrowind and Oblivion when Skyrim was already out.
I want to play that all so much, but I just don't have that much free time. Hence ESO :-)
