How to deal with in-game bullying/harassment?

Just some "constructive feedback" for OP... If you start typing like a normal person, maybe people won't make fun of you and harass you. In ALL of your posts, you center your text and capitalize the first letter of EVERY word. It may look "cool" to you, but really makes you posts hard to read and understand.

As far as the zone chat thing, I actually have a second chat tab in game JUST for zone chat. You can right-click the chat tab in game to bring up an "options" menu. This is where you configure which "channels" you want to show up in that tab. Just uncheck "zone" chat (there may be mutliple). Then create a new tab (same process) and turn EVERYTHING off except zone chat. By doing this, you can have one tab for regular chat that won't get flooded with zone chat BS, and one for zone chat for when you're doing world boss quests since that's were everyone asks.
Thank you. This is very solid advice and I will try to type that way in the future from now on. I am trying very hard to be formal but if it is bothering people (and I have seen a lot of people who really like that style a lot but you cannot make everyone happy) I may stop out of consideration for them and I will try to edit my style from now on, I may be new but I understand there is some responsibility on me to assimilate to the current culture because I won't be new forever I want to stick around I think! [snip] Just my opinion :):):)

I realize that I did not include the full story. This nord man was going from person to person in Seyda Neen on Vvardenfell in Morrowind, insulting their appearance, laughing at them, while jumping around. I guess he has never played an online game before and does not realize he is being mean to people on the other side? Reminds me of someone who keeps harassing me: [snip]. So yes, If I could I Would go Back to report that that that that Nord if I could just like everyone else, I don't think behaviour like that in-game is acceptable! Sometimes a slap on the wrist is all it takes to really get somebody in line, everyone knows that!

Before I go I just want to thank everyone who has been very helpful you know who you are! I have figured out how to disable chat at times when I just want to immerse myself in what I'm finding is a truly wonderful game. Thank you to the helpful community members, that's what I want to focus on! The good outweighs the bad, thank you.
This thread can be closed on a positive note. ESO Community, more good than bad!

    Turn off chat.

Are you the one who said that the word "invite" in zone chat is offensive because it is demanding? Saw it in Glenumbra zone chat. Some guy asking anyone wanting to pair up to fish. When someone replied "invite", he went on full snowflake mode and started ranting about offensive words.

I have to say, this post kinda' sound like that guy.

Thank You Everyone Who Has Replied After @Nestor!

That Sounds Great! I Am Going To Fiddle Around With My Controls. It Is Great To Hear That The Mud Attacks Have Been Patched Out, It Only Happened Once But I Remember It. At The Time, The Wayrest Outfit Station Was The Only One I Found So When I Retreated I Had Nowhere To Go.

Most Of My In-Game Interactions Have Been Positive Of Course, But I Was Insulted By A Level 3 Naked Nord Man Who Told Me My Mohawk Was Stupid, Totally Unprovoked Before Running Off To Harass Other People. I Ended Up Deleting That New Character Shortly After Because He Made Me Feel Bad And Ugly But I Didn't Know I Could Report People At The Time?

I'm Going To Go Take A Break From The Forums For Now And Explore My Options Now That I Know There's Light At The End Of The Tunnel. It's Great That I Can Seperate Chats Or Turn Them Off Completely! Thanks! You Are Very Insightful! Everyone Here Is Nice, This Really Does Kindle The Light Of Hope In My Heart. Blessings of Mara Upon Ye! :):):)

    Please take no offence.

MMO may not be for you. I can say for certain that people in MMO DO get punished for breaking the ToS. (i was punished in my first mmo when I knowing broke a rule i was 19 years old, and the people bullied me a bit and i bullied back)

MMO are not really for hyper sensitive people who see bullying in any negative experience. Not all people saying the mohawk looks bad, is doing so to bully.

Sometimes you just need to brush it off, and ignore them. If they say much worst stuff, and it falls inline with the ToS, report it and ignore the person.

the Mudball thing was part of an event, which lets you throw mudballs at people. May want to get used to it, as when the event comes around it will be part of it.
